Going right after work, I'll be there at 7:30-8 pmish.

I might consider AC my home base for grinding but I've never been to Harrah's AC during the Circuit and this year I will be going right after it begins. Can anyone comment on how full the ring games will be? Will people need to wait on lists 25-40 deep?

Wait lists will be long...as there will be spillover from the tourney in the poker room...I'm sure towards the end of the schedule it will open up...best bet head next door to borg

Is there any good cash game action going on there lately? Any games 5/10 NL or higher?

Spent this past weekend at Harrah's in AC and was happy with the experience. Stayed in the Waterfront Tower which is the newer one. Rooms were clean and updated, very close to the pool and buffet as well.

Kind of a hike to the poker room but worth the trade off.

As for the poker I thought all the dealers at my tables were proficient and some were well above average. Also, the environment seemed pretty relaxed so they made jokes and talked with the players which helps fill the time between playable hands.

Good action down there this weekend as well with the WSOP circuit tournament they were running. Always at least a handful of NLHE games going and at times the room was close to capacity and from my perspective the floor supervisors ran it efficiently.

My only complaints would be slow cocktail service at times, pretty typical, and some of the screwy AC poker rules (i.e. no rack on tables even with a playable stack out, no straddling, no showing cards to get a read when player is all-in)

All small stuff, great trip overall.

Thanks for the feedback, SparkOA. Do you recall which NL games where running?

They were only running 1/2 and 2/5 regularly. Occasionally I would see a short handed game of 5/10 going and there was an interest list for 1/2 PLO but it never got going.

I played in the WSOP Circuit stud poker event yesterday, and made the final table! The final table was played today, and I ended up in 7th place. Not bad, considering that I don't have much experience in that game, and a number of really good area stud players entered.

I'm happy with the result, and the $713 profit.

Kudos to John, the rest of the staff, and of course the dealers for putting on a really nice tournament.

New $5 Red Chips in circulation I would assume for the whole casino (did not play blackjack or anything else when I was there this past Wed), they've been using them for about a week now. Difference is the inside color is now white (along the edge of the metal center), instead of the blue/teal/green that they used to have. Easier to shuffle now imo.

When I find time I will post pic of old vs. new red chip

From what I've been told by the cage people (confirmed by floor people) the "new" chips are actually 20 years old. Never used, they've been in storage the entire time.

Seems that Harrah's was running short on the plastic chips, and they aren't made any more. So, the new old chips were brought out. They seem to be clay around the metal center, thus the very different feel and shuffleability. Personally, I prefer them.

Does anybody remember a few years back when they recirculated the 20+ year old holiday seasonal chips around Christmas time? My wife and I kept a few of them. I think we have some chips from Christmas 1985 and 1993 etc. Those chips IIRC were all clay

Any mid-high LHE games here or just 2/4 & 3/6?

Anyone know if it's worth it to grind the 150 hours to get in the $60k freeroll. It says top 3 win wsop seat and top 60 win cash... What are the payouts like and how many people you think show up to this?

Just 2/4 and 4/8 'mini blind' whatever that means. Maybe 1/2 blinds with 4 dollar bet on flop and 8 dollar bets on turn and river? I'm not sure so someone can confirm. I have not seen a higher limit game go. The place next door however...

I think if I remember correctly, it got somewhere around 150 last year. Help me out if anyone remembers exactly. The base pay out was something like $500. Last time around I believe they only gave 2 seats, and it was $50000 pool. Is it worth the grind? only you know if you want to spend 150 hours in Harrah's poker room! lol. Sucks to put all the time in to bust, but 3 out of 150-200 players isn't a bad shot either. At least you can get half way or almost there to a Diamond card.

acdawg712 has it right on the mini-blind game. 1 and 2 dollar blinds, with $4 and $8 betting. Best thing is that right now it pays $2 an hour in comps and 60 tier credits an hour.

I'll have to recheck the payouts on the freeroll. Near as I can recall, last year's drew something like 400 players with the top 200 getting paid at least $50 each. The real money goes to the top 3, with the rest of the final table getting significant amounts.

Personally, I really like the room at Harrah's and do most of my playing there. So, no big deal for me. As to whether or not others would find it, that is for each individual to decide.

Is the freeroll just for Harrah's, or all Caesars/Harrah's casinos?

how easy is it to get comps for hotel room at Harrah's playing 1-2nl? I heard they used to be more or less giving them away this time last year seeing if that is still the same. If not Harrah's what place is easiest to earn comped rooms in AC? Thanks

anyone know if those tier credits expire only after inactivity or they just expire a year after you earn them?
