Anyone get offers for the windbreaker and his & hers watches? Is either worth the drive down?

I got the postcard in the mail too. Can't say I'm burning to drive down there.

The Windbreaker is black, somewhat shiny looking, harrah's logo, full zip with coller and 2 front hand pockets.

The watches looks like they could be a light gunmetal with a purple watch face center with a white ring around the edge. Hashed time marks, no numbers. Some may like.

If I'm going down there anyway.. great.. if not.... oh well!

Im going down for some WSOP events but have an online tourney with PS. Can someone confirm that they do NOT block PS from connecting?

Thanks,

I've never had a problem with PokerStars, or any other website, being blocked.

Anyone going to be in town on Friday for their gift giveaway? Any ideas on what they're giving away? Is it worth the trip?

Hello, everyone. Just read through this thread.

Never really played live except years ago a session or two as an extreme donk. Looking to try out some live poker.

My plan is to come down on Dec 4th. I want to play 1/2 NLHE.

I heard that there is a big tournament going on that night and I am wondering how that will affect the cash games? Will it still run? It's a big tourny so will the player pool be more skilled at the cash game tables?

Also, I can't guaranty 100% but possible extra seat in the car leaving from Philadelphia.

In my experience, playing 1/2 during tournaments is a good idea. Following the BB is a better idea.

Actually on Dec 4th the tourny starts at noon. Expect 1000+ runners for this. Cash games are crazy good during these WSOP-C Events. Def a +EV idea to play cash that whole weekend, well actually until the 18th when the WSOP is over.

In my opinion the players at the cash games are more skilled during these things because all the pros and would be pros come down and play the cash games in between the tournaments. But there will still be fish so it will still be profitable. I played 1/2 last year during this tourney at Harrah's and the level of play was definitely better than normal. There is a $300+$40 tourney the day you get down there. Try and jump into that if you can. That will have plenty of fish in it.

hehe, thank for the info. I am not a tourney player though. I think I might try out some other location because I am so new myself to live poker.

Normally if I'm staying in AC, it's at Harrah's. Waterfront Tower FTW IMO. The poker room is very nice, very cozy so to speak. I think the only problem I do have with it is that their mega print cards need to be shrunk just like the Borgata but their poker chips beat the Borgata by a mile. I wish they'd have a few tables close to the poker room though. I have to walk a good distance before seeing a blackjack table.

Was just there a while ago, looking to go back this coming or next weekend.
Harrahs uses normal print cards as my most recent trip

Which tower is closest to the poker room? Whenever I stay there Harrah's always puts me in the Marina Tower which is a hike from the poker room. Is the Waterfront Tower the one that is right near the poker room? Anyone tell me?

Harbour tower is right outside the poker room. Marina is close and Bayview and Waterfront is furthest away by the pool.

so just saw that i could get a waterfront corner suite at a sick price - as long as i say its for 2 people. If i say its for 3+ the price doubles.

How strict are they on only allowing 2 people to actually stay there?

They won't deliver a third bed to the room. (I've asked, because they have cots available, but they say it is a fire hazard.) But you can ask for three keys with no problem. Maybe there is some difference if you are talking about a suite, but I doubt it.

I'm thinking of booking a Harrah's room for January. Borgata is dragging their feet with room offers and I have the following deal on the table from H right now...

Harbour Deluxe Room
WED 1/20 $29
THU 1/21 $29
FRI 1/22 $119

I'll be staying myself so as long as the room is clean and safe I'm GTG. Can any regs give me some info on the Jitney service back and forth between Borgata and Harrah's? I'm heading down to play in the BPO and I don't want to have to crank the car up every time to go back and forth.

Also, unless the games at Harrah's are good I'm going to wind up playing in ca$h games later in the evening and having to travel back to my room in the wee hours.

Not sure about Jitney, but the cab ride is fairly cheap between the 2. It was a bit over 5 when I rode last week.

I think Marina is actually by the front desk. None of the towers are far from the poker room unless you happen to be horribly lazy.

For what it's worth its only a 15 min walk on a well lit path between Harrah's and the Borgata poker rooms. From Harrahs walk out the poker room and turn left follow the water front path until you get to the Borgata and turn with the Jitney stop in between the two employee parking garages and it puts you right at the Poker Room entrance. Do the reverse from Borgata to Harrah's.

The Marina tower is right next the the bell captain at the front desk, pretty close to the poker room. I wouldn't consider it a matter of being lazy I just look at it from the perspective if you have to run up to your room for whatever reason while sitting out at a table. The bayview & waterfront towers you have to speed walk to go up to your room and rush back down to be back in 20 min. Where the Harbour tower you can be off the table in your room in 2 min Marina about 5 min and Bayview/Waterfront depending on room 8-10min

Taking the Jitney from Harrah's to Borgata is easy because they are consecutive stops. The other way, you would need to take the #6, which doesn't seem to run that frequently.

But just walk...it takes less than 10 minutes.

How are the cash games going with the WSOP circuit in town? Any good 2-5 games or is it better to play 1-2?

Hello. Can anyone give me some thoughts on the Harrah's poker room? I don't play much live - have played 5-10 hours at each of Borg, Taj, Trop and the 'Boat, plus a little in Vegas. So far, I have liked Borg and Taj the most. Wife has mentioned going to Harrah's because of the particular spa they have there.

How's the poker room? I'd be playing 1/2 on weekend nights.

Thanks.

It's a nice room with good, competent, friendly dealers and floor staff. Should be plenty of tables in action most weekday nights, more on weekends.

With the Circuit event in town, the place should be jumping.
