Just a quick ?? to any regulars... If you reached your 120 hours (or 150 or 200) for the freeroll, do you receive any notification? I am pretty sure i'll be there by the weekend, and wanna make sure I qualify/am entered...

They are not sending out any notifications, so far as I know. Better check with one of the poker rooms for your hours. There is a list printed out, but as of today it only shows the hours up to August 1. Each poker room can only give you the hours you played there - not the total for all 4. That is on the list, however.

FYI BB Jackpot hit Thrus 5pm ish. It was something like 206,000. Guess every dealer got $100 tip, etc. sounds like everyone was happy. Winner was a regular player there, it was a 1-2NL table. I *think* 9999 over 2222.

Jack pot reset to $49,000

Thanks for the info. I would've wasted gas on my way up there.

I wish Harrahs would update it as much as Borgata does with their BBJ.

Just got back from a week long trip at Harrah's. The poker dealers seem to be the same ones I have seen over the past 7 years... not really sure what everyone is talking about. I've always thought the Harrah's dealers were great - in any game, not just poker. Much better than Borgata's mute robots.

Heard non-stop bitching about Harrah's poker room from all of the Harrah's regulars who were there 16 hours a day the whole week. They don't like the ante in the Stud game, they don't like the limits they spread, etc. The BBJ hit an hour or so after I left Thursday night... think it was at a 1/2 NL table.

The "club scene" the Marina casinos are going for now is starting to wear on me. Maybe I'm a 60 year old in a 20-something's body, but it gets old. There is nothing I hate more than trying to walk through 5,000 ugly skanks to get back to my room at night. Are these people seriously spending money? I though I heard that Harrah's gives these jokers the Waterfront/Bayview rooms to keep them from walking through the casino drunk. I can't imagine why the casinos want them there unless they are anticipating that when they are making enough to gamble, they will come back to the same hotel they partied at.

That said, we were put up in the Waterfront tower... loved the room. Can't really beat it for $70 a night... I don't even play much and that was the rate they gave me.

Do they still run the 4-8 game on the weekends? Might be there saturday. Do any of the Harrahs places have limit games over 3-6?

We do have a 4/8 mini blind game, thats 1/2 blinds betting increments of 4/8 that does run sometimes... best time would be the weekend of course. Word to the wise for everybody, if you want to play a game or a certain limit just start a list for it, you would be amazed at how many people just go for what they see, and dont even think of starting a new list.

Harrah's was a very good time this weekend. Wife and I stayed in the Waterfront Tower and loved the room. I'm 99.99% sure TheShadow7478 dealt to me in the 2/5 game on Sunday morning/early afternoon (I was the guy w/ the peach polo with chips in stacks of 40 as opposed to 20, 4 seat) but obv didn't mention anything.

Here's a half-hearted Cliffs Notes Trip Report:
-Got into town on Friday evening
-Hung out w/ wife in room and slept 11 hours
-Woke up Saturday and played 2/5 (+$55 session 2 hours)
-Walked to Borgata and played 1/2NL (+$30 session 1.5 hours)
-Back to room @ Harrah's to shower and get ready for dinner
-Dinner @ Borgata w/ hamsammich and his wife
-Played 1/2 PLO @ Borgata (-$200 session 1.5 hours AAKK AIPF 4-ways obv doesn't hold)
-Played 2/4 LHE while waiting for wife to finish her PCG session (+$18 session 45 mins)
-Back to room @ Harrah's for another 9 hours of sleep
-Sunday morning/afternoon 2/5NL @ Harrah's (+$400 session 3.5 hrs)
-Degen friend drove by himself down to AC and is @ Taj so I obv have to go to Taj and hang w/ him
-Played 5/10 Stud @ Taj (-$30 session however was up over $140 before every old geezer chased me down EVERY FREAKING HAND and made miracle gutshots on 6th and 7th streets against me OMG I HATE PLAYING WITH OLD CHASERS EVERY FREAKING HAND!)
-Friend busts @ 1/2NL, busts out of tourney, busts @ 1/2NL again
-Friend and I play 3/6 LHE (-$37 session 1 hr)
-Loan friend $200 to try and run it up @ blackjack
-Friend busts $200 @ blackjack in 1 hr and 20 mins
-Friend leaves AC w/ 1/4 tank of gas but his Camry makes it back to Bergen County somehow
-Back to Harrah's and wife is done w/ work so we get pizza and Ben&Jerry's (NOT on my diet but it's ok)
-Sleep another 8 hours and drive to work on Monday

Wife's Trip Report:
-Work
-Work
-Work
-Enjoy time w/ most charming husband ever
-Work
-Work
-Wonderful dinner w/ husband and his internet friends
-Win $300 @ PCG
-Work
-Work
-Eat bad w/ husband and get decent rest
-Work

-Drive home in rush hour traffic

He ended up playing 1/2 at a club near his house on Monday and and won $700 so all's well that ends well. How his car managed to make it back to Bergen County is just beyond me.

Does anyone know how we find out if we qualified for the freeroll? Do we get invitations? I tried calling, but they said they don't give out personal information over the phone. I think I have enough hours, but I don't want to plan a trip out there and show up and find out they missed one of my sessions somewhere.

I don't know a way other than asking them in person. I know I have some hours to play this weekend, so I'm hoping to get an accurate count on what I need to play. I'm hoping that any hours played the last day or two of August will all get counted. Since the TR points don't show up for a day or two, I suppose it's possible for this too.

You should have said hello Matty, just ask if the dealer if he is the Ed from online or from 2+2.

Are you older or younger than 30? If you're Ed then I think it was likely a different guy. The guy I was thinking of is in his 20s and wears glasses, while the Ed I know of is well past his 30th birthday.

If you're younger than 30, I'm the one who brought up the fact that we'd playd PCG together the previous weekend @ Borgata.

Thx for the compliment. I put minimal effort into it but I'm glad you and magoo liked it.

GL in AC! I'm hoping to convince the wife to take a trip down again if we get all our chores around the house done tonight since the weather is going to be garbage.

My friends got an offer for a free room at any of the harrahs properties but he can't go, was wondering if I book the room and put his rewards number as my companion and booked the free room online if they'd let me check in even tho he's not there. If anyone's done this let me know if it worked, thanks.

I'm about 99% certain that the person who the offer was given to has to be present at check-in.

I once was able to arrange for my mom and a friend of hers to use a free room I booked for them under my account when I wasn't there. I spoke in person with a front-desk clerk to make sure it would be OK about a week before the event and everything went off without a problem.

So I'd say talk about it with the hotel staff in person and you should be fine.
