I moved to North Springs (in Coral Springs) 4 months ago and absolutely love it. It's more of a family/older area, but I wouldn't mind living here if I were a bachelor too. About 7 mins from Seminole Coconut Creek, and 15 mins to Isle, and 30-40 mins to Hard Rock and a little more to West Palm and the Miami rooms. I love almost everything about south Florida, couldn't be happier with the move. My wife agrees. Good luck if you do it!

Edit: I just noticed you said you have a wife and daughter. In that case, I highly recommend Coral Springs. We're very happy with Discovery preschool, and find Country Hills elementary to be alright. Seems a lot of public schools around here have funding issues, but overall we're satisfied with the school.

Agreed. If you're raising a family, Coral Springs would be one of your better South Florida choices. Certainly the best choice that also would put you closest to the pokers.

Is Lighthouse Point a safe place? I'm looking to live in between the Isle and Hollywood but it seems to me that a ton of crime is in most of Southern Florida unless you go north of Boca Raton. I have noticed Coral Springs and Weston seem to be good on crime and safer compared to all the other areas I looked at. Is Lauderhill, Lauderdale Lakes, or Plantation below the national crime avg and for the most part safe to live? Would u locals live there or somewhere else?

Where I live now is almost half the crime rate avg using city-data.com stats.

Anything west of federal highway and east of the turnpike is generally not a good area. I live on US-1 and Commercial and have had 0 problems. Just pick a nice neighborhood or apartment building and dont go walking around on foot.

Lauderhill and such are pretty ****ty tbh. Just live in Lighthouse, or Coral Springs. Obv Boca is much nicer but also more $$ and further away, there are some nice appts/condos in West Boca which are not to much money and very nice.

Good and bad neighborhoods in Lauderhill, Coral Springs, Lighthouse Point and anywhere else you go. But this is way off topic. This isn't going to be a very enlightening discussion in a poker forum. Talk to a Realtor.

Boca FTW. I'm a Boca 'slumlord' and my wife is a realtor. Would be glad to give any help/opinion via PM, and involve her if something more official is needed.

Back to poker, how often is PLO 2/5 running, and why do they act like I'm buts anytime I want to start a PLO 1/2 or PLO/NLHE 1/2 mix game??

Also, draft yuenglings went up from like $2.25 to $4.25?? Are there any cheap drink options at isle to get your gamboozle on? I hear the buffet is decent deal and includes (3?) drinks?

PLO 2/5 runs occasionally. I don't play it, I only know that it pops up from time to time, doesn't seem to be very often. It might be a regular weekly game, maybe someone who plays it can educate us about that.

Who is "they"? Are you talking about the brush stand's reaction when you ask to start a list or something? If so, the dayshift brush stand is far more cooperative with starting interest lists than the night crew. The night crew gets really cranky for some reason about starting and keeping interest lists for non-regular games.

I have a friend who lives in Coconut Creek. North of Sample has some very nice neighborhoods. Plus the Coconut Creek Casino is just steps away.

If you want to live in Coral Springs, look on the West side of University Dr. B/w University and US1 is not so good... Except there are some good places in Coconut Creek.

This is for sure one of the best pokerrooms in the world. One of few flaws; there's a rule that when you change tables within the same stakes you can only bring the max buyin to the new table. Thus allowing for serious going south. This rule should certainly be changed.

When there are 6 2/5 games running and someone wants to move tables, nobody is going to baby sit them to the next game and make sure they bring chips. It's not practical to enforce

Thats beside the point. The rule should be that you cannot take cash off the table.

What about a player that circumvents the max buyin rule by transferring to a game and bringing out 2k in green and saying he won it at his previous table? I'm sure your opinion on this differs if its a loose aggressive very good reg and if it were a mega fish

I agree with that rule. Moving to a new table, even at the same stakes, is a new game and you should be allowed to buy in for the max or min.

If Iam playing at a table for a while, I wouldn't want anyone from another game coming to my table with a deep stack without me having any information on them.
