People follow the jackpots here, they don't give a rat's ass that the rakes are outrageous, they just go wiggy over those jackpot promotions. That's all they ever talk about. You cannot go five minutes at any table without people talking about the jackpots in one way or another.
For instance, a couple or three months ago the Isle became the last of the South Florida rooms to raise their jackpot drop to $2. Part of that was to give a high-hand promotion to Omaha tables three days a week. On those three days, each week, they would get four or five Omaha tables going strong for the jackpot hours. Nearly all of those tables would break at the end of the jackpot promotion for the day.
This month, the Isle dropped the Omaha jackpot promotion, and the Omaha games have all but dried up. People you would see every day vanished from sight this month when they found out there would be no Omaha high hands this month.
Curiously, they still drop $2 per hand on the jackpot rake for a lame royal flush promotion that no one cares about.
