I'm pretty sure you'll get to join him in some manner.

We are still revising our comp policy, but should have it finalized by the end of the week.

FYI- The Florida State Championship will start August 2 with the main event guaranteeing $250,000 with an $1100 buy-in.

Are you going to be allowed to play in the room?

We don't expect to start the higher stakes until July 1 at 9am. Due to our State Gaming Day, I'm not sure anyone can. Our normal hours will be the same as the casino's 9am - 3am 24 hours on the weekend.

Take care
Mike, what do you mean by gaming day?

A gaming Day is not usually the same as a calendar day. For example our Gaming Day begins (I think) at 5am and ends at 4:59am the following morning. In Florida, this is mandated by the State. So, since we start our 12 hour day at 1pm, it must end at 1am on this Gaming Day. If that makes sense.

Even if the State decides it's OK, it typically isn't the Isle's policy to allow team members to gamble in their own casino

Who would be interested in playing the following game (preferably at the Isle on a regular basis starting on my birthday*)?

"Triple Draw Crazy HORSE" $5-$25 (increments of 5) any time spread (unstructured)

Games:
  1. 2-7 Triple Draw
  2. Crazy Pineapple - (maybe add mandatory straddle like 1/2/5 blinds?)
  3. H.O.R.S.E. (On flop games maybe add mandatory straddle like 1/2/5 blinds?)
Optional:
  1. We can add a full kill (everything doubles)
  2. We can have a minimum buy in (say $200)
  3. We can have a max buy in (say $800)
  4. An all in player who is felted can short buy for $100 every other time
  5. We can make this game time raked (no jackpot)
  6. We can add more games to make it a "Kitchen Sink"
  7. We can make it 8, 9 or 10 handed (on 9 or 10 players - 1 or 2 players take turns sitting out on stud games)
  8. One person can pay the timed rake then get it back in the next TWO pots (half per pot) that are $100 or higher
  9. Have a "must move" system where every table is a must move down the line - i.e. 3 tables (the newest table) player next on the list moves to table 2 & when their is a seat open in the main table (#1) gets a player next on the list from table 2. The more tables the better; it becomes like a multi table tourney except it's a cash game and when you finally get to the main game hopefully you have several thousand to take to it!
  10. Have clear signs on the table (in between 5 & 6 seat) which game is in play
  11. Play a set # of each game i.e. 8-12 games (rather then change on dealer push)
  12. Half rule raise is in effect on all ins since these are considered "limit" games
  13. Somehow guarantee to the house we can constantly keep this mixed game going & in return the regular players (in this game) are guaranteed the top maximum comps offered.

*My birthday just happens to be July 1

If I had to use my "one time" and revoke the ability from ever being able to use it again, I'm pretty sure this would be it.

No conditions, these are just some optional suggestions I think would make for a better mixed game and will attract more people to a quality mixed game IMHO!

The real questions are - how many players can make a commitment to keep a quality mixed game going day in and day out long term? The other - how many players can we attract just to get it off the ground? I'll call you or stop by the Isle to discuss it next week if I don't go to Vegas.

Your could always just stop dealing Lord Strife and be apart of a new mixed game !

Where in the country outside of a couple big-game rooms in Vegas has a sustained mixed game? I know many have tried and many have failed.

Mike,

With the new games being allowed under the law, how much training are the dealers receiving in dealing the new games? Will they be able to read the board for PLO, deal Razz (assuming it is eventually allowed by dpmw) calculate the max bet sizes for players in pot-limit games etc by the time July 1 comes around? In the end, the big distinction for me is going to be which room has the best staff.

We've been training the past month. I have every confidence most of our team will be ready. We are having a PLO tournament on June 26 to not only give our team a test run but also the players.

Will the rule limiting the betting to a bet plus three raises per round be changed? Specifically, with respect to Limit Hold-em, will unlimited raises be allowed when the game gets heads-up?

I know the current law specifically mandates the Bet + 3-raises restriction on all rounds. I wonder if that part of the law has been removed or changed?

Is it high only or hi/lo on the 26th? Can you put the details here or if not allowed, can you post it on the Isle website?

It's an Omaha High Tournament. 2pm Saturday the 26th.

$120 Buy-in 4000 units 20 minute levels.

It will be our basic blind structure w/o the antes.

we are website challenged, but it is improving. I hope to have all our tournaments and blind structures up eventually.

Thanks

Outstanding! Even better than I had hoped for. Thank you.

I'd appreciate your interpretation of two scenarios:
1. The game is heads-up before the river card. This clearly qualifies for unlimited raises between the two players on the river betting round, right?

2. 3 players in the game before the river card. 1st player bets, 2nd player raises, 3rd player re-raises, 1st player folds. The game is now heads-up. But does it qualify for unlimited raises between the two remaining players, since the round did not start heads-up? I've seen it ruled both ways.

Thank you very much for your participation in this forum.

How is the weekend defined? Is it Friday and Saturday? Friday, Saturday and Sunday?

Will the specific hours be something like this:
Monday 9am - Tuesday 3am
Tuesday 9am - Wednesday 3am
Wednesday 9am - Thursday 3am
Thursday 9am straight thru to Sunday 3am
Sunday 9am - Monday 3am

Thanks for all your answers. Looking forward to checking the place out this week.

4 raises or 4 bets? so a 4/8 game with 4 raises will have caps at $20 and $40 or 4 bets with caps at $16 and $32?

After I posted, I realized this makes a lot more sense. Closing at 3am Sunday morning would be a real buzz-killer for the Saturday night crowd. Like everyone else here, I'm really looking forward to July.
