We are moving the Main Event to the end of the series. The new schedule will be out soon. We are still having the tournaments April 6-26

I have read the comments in the past and thought while I was in So. Fla from Tampa, I would visit the Isle. It is one of the nicest rooms in Florida. I think the staff was very nice and the room is clean and comfortable.

The only thing was the players. The 2/5 NL action isn't as juicy as the Hard Rock, but I guess you can't have everything. Very nice room Mike!

My only opinion on this is that the game plays a little different, but is equally beatable. The Isle has more 6-way flops for $25 whereas the Hard Rock has more 3 way flops for $100. The Isle game has more calling stations that'll look you up on the river, whereas Hard Rock has more people going allin blind for $200+. Isle players also tend to play longer sessions with less hit and runs, and will reload more often with less player turnover, even if it's just for $200 at a time. This allows for more time to build reads and make more calculated decisions.

Mike - any news on your schedule for the April series you mentioned earlier - I'm planning an overseas trip to visit and making it around the schedule and need to look at flights. Tips or deals on local Hotels - cheap and cheerful, clean and safe, on my jack jones?

The tournament will start April 6 with a $550 buy-in $75,000 Guarantee. There are 23 events and over $1,000,000 in prize money guaranteed. The Championship event is $3200. We should have the official schedule posted soon. If you would like a copy, pm me your email address and I'd be happy to send you one.

Is the CE a $3,000+$200? I have been avoiding your series because of the rake. I know you would get at least one more entrant as well as cash game player if the rake for the tournaments were not $200 per tournament.

Isn't this the same week that the Hard Rock is doing their WPT events ?

Why schedule during the same time frame ?

Eeryone will realize how bad hard rock properties are run that they will drive 20 minutes north to play better events.

It is $200. That's less than 10% for a deep stack tournament

It's unfortunate that occurred. We had this scheduled months in advance after the April 27-May 3 date was announced for their event. We released our schedule in January at the Isle Classic and then the WPT put theirs out. I apologize in advance to the players, but we were just unable to change our dates. We think we offer the players the best tournaments in south Florida and although they don't carry the WPT name, they do carry the Isle name.

Yes but the $1,000+$100 and $2,000+$200 were 10%

33 I think your being a little petty. These rooms dont make much on tourneys at all and your ccomplaining about 10% rake? I cant imagine you get to play too many tourneys.

The weird thing is, I know your at the PBKC and the WSOPC has got to be one of the worst raked I have ever seen.

I do not play a lot of tournaments specifically for that reason. However, the ones I do play are very rarely below a 1k buy-in, and no they do not have a 10% vig. For example, since you brought it up, I will be playing in the $1,500+$100 CE at the WSOPC. No need to do the math, it's less than 10%.

Just because everyone is used to paying an unbelievable amount for tournaments doesn't mean it has to stay that way. And btw, 300 runners at $200 a piece is $60k. More than enough to run an event IMHO.

Just dont forget that these companies are trying to run a business and most of the people that run them have to answer to people that only look at numbers. I do understand what you are saying but at the same note, the very first casino i started playing at, the poker room was downsized to put in slot machines, even tho the room stayed full. If you really did the numbers, then tourneys really do little for the house but bring in players in hopes that they would play cash. (where you are really getting raked over

IMHO, competition is healthy anyway. Example: when I was at the Rio WSOP in 2008 & 2009 for about a month each year; Binion's, Venetian & Golden Nugget had competting events during the same time frame and they were all busy. What would be nice however, is to add some mixed events like Om8 and HORSE instead of just NLH.

Which brings me to the next question for all players - Can we get enough players to bring back to The Isle on a regular basis the $8/$16 Om8 with 1/2 kill (maybe add stud h/l) game? No for me to this if it's going to be a $10/$20 game. IMHO, $8/$16 games plays insanely good and bigger than the $10/$20, especially with all those $2 chips in the pot !!! I'll be ready after the PBKC WSOPC ends.

Teddy
PS - After more than 6 months hiatus from playing live poker full time (due to getting my Systems Admin Microsoft Certifications), I'm excited about playing again full time!!!

I am in the process of closing on a condo 6 miles away from the Isle, so in the near future, I think I am very interested in a 8/16-10/20 FLO8 game.

Grind mostly online big bet O8, but this may give me a good reason to come out once in a while. Not to mention I always enjoy seeing that Thai waitress...

Also, since we are on the topic, do you think there is any chance of getting a 1/2 PLO8 game going? Or maybe NLO8 would have a better chance taking off?

Ohmygod. Why in the world did the Isle have to sink to the level of the Seminoles and adopt the button-straddle rule? This room is going downhill fast.

Tables are filthy, the buttons on the Bravo system don't work on about half the tables, dealers can't get a bank fill or get a supervisor at the table, the game comes to a dead stop about every other hand when a new player is buying in or someone insists on coloring up their chips, and now this.

I'm done with this place.

Why is allowing the button straddle a bad thing? The seminoles have mississippi straddle in any non blind position tho.

If I read the new rules at the Isle right it says that the normal straddle position gets 1st option over the button straddle. That doesnt make much sense.
