Hi,

I'm heading down to South Florida later this month, and I hear that the Isle is the place to play down there.

Does anyone know what daily tournaments they offer ?

Also, I heard that they offer some good limit games (10/20, 15/30, etc). Has anyone played in them, and have any feedback ? I really enjoy a decent limit game, but can't seem to find any good ones.

Thanks in advance,

Uniden

Yes, the Isle is a very nice room and a great place to play. I don't play limit, so can't help you there, but as far as tournaments go - they usually start at noon and 7:30PM daily. They have a $150 tournament with $50 bounties on Thursday at 7:30PM that is very popular. Also, if you are in the mood for a shovefest there's a Turbo tourney on Monday and Wednesday evenings for $120. But the best tourney is the one on Tuesdays at noon. It's a $230 buy-in with 13,000 chips and 30 minute levels. It comes with a $15K guarantee, which is easily met, as they usually get about 100 people.

Also, they have some special tournaments coming up. If you're going to be down here by the 11th, there's a $350 buy-in with a $100 bounty tournament on Columbus Day that has a $30K guarantee. (They actually run this same tourney every Sunday at noon w/o the guarantee, but I don't think they get much of a turn-out for them.) And during the first week of November is the "Isle Open", which is 5 different tournaments ranging in buy-ins from $225 to $2200. They are running a bunch of satellites for this during the month of October.

The previous post gave you a pretty good run down on our tournaments. Did miss the $100 buy-in 5K guarantee on Mondays at 12 noon.

We have been getting 20-40 on Tuesdays, 15-30 on Wednesdays and Thursdays and on Friday Night they're playing 15-30 1/2 HE and 1/2 O8. The games have been pretty strong for 6 or 7 hours each night

Thanks

Is it really too much to ask for Mike Smith or somebody from the Isle poker room to get their tourney schedule for the month posted in a timely manner? I can't find a schedule anywhere on your website, and today, at ptseats.com, you still have the October calendar posted.

How hard can this be?

Thank you.
The calendar was taken down early on Friday due to an error on the tournament times. Apparently it was checked while this was being corrected causing quite a stir in some corners.
Our apologies

Wow. I don't comment on absurd posts but this one is a little over the top. First of all The Isle is the best room in Florida, the room to the north taking second. Second, Mike Smith runs an amazing room. Just because you are too lazy to pick up the phone and call is no excuse for flaming the room. In case you haven't noticed, all room websites have a disclaimer that says schedule subject to change at anytime. Therefore, your most up to date info is going to come from a phone call.

You do realize that this is only one of many "Isle" properties right? I'm fairly certain that Mike Smith is not involved with contracting a web design firm....I could really care less if there are some occasional mistakes or omissions since the room is run pretty solid for the most part.....BTW tell me who number 1 is....I want to play there of course....

went fri, kind of disappointed that no PLO was running.. got on interest list for 1/2 and 2/5 PLO. A single announcement for the PLO would probably help the game kick off. I think I heard 6- or so $40 SNG get announced int hat time, each one announced multiple times. a 10/25 PLO game did kick off probably around 2am, but unfortunately that's above my brolll. Any chance of pushing the PLO game just a little bit?

Sunday night (11/14), there was one 2/5 plo and 2 5/10 plo games running. The 2/5 kicked off around 5:30, the 5/10 started headsup around 7:00. It filled up and I do not know when the second 5/10 started.

There was a list for the 2/5 all night, and all 3 seemed to be going strong when I left at 11:00.

There was a woman (Anna?) in the 2/5 game who apparently has a phone list of players because sometimes the 2/5 game goes at Gulfstream. There are enough players around who want to play plo every single day, they just do not know where to go to be assured of a game. The 2/5 players need to choose one room for their game and start the list there every single day.

Mini-TR:

Was in FLL for business, and stopped by last night. *Loved* the huge tables - so much room compared to the tables I am used to in PA/NJ. Chips are clean and nice. Racetrack wasn't a problem, given the overall table size.

Put my name on the 15-30 LHE list, which allegedly gets off every now and then on a Tuesday, but I don't think it ever got above 4 names.

Ended up playing 2-5. Players and dealers were all quite friendly. Got smacked with the deck. Went back to the hotel happy.

Two thumbs up!
