i would think not. No self respecting poker player is getting up this early just to sit at a table and if they do, they're not the fish I'm trolling for. Go for it about 1 PM. Does anyone know the direct number and has anyone played there this weekend?

Not much of a wait now. Just opened a 2-5. Got a ton of 3-4 going . Very inexperienced dealers. They've got genesis bravo.

Re: Harrah's Chester, PA Casino & Racetrack Poker Room

I am curious to officially know:

1. What the rake is?
2. Comps per hour? Do you earn tier credits too?
3. BBJ drop rules? $1 from $20 pot, or $1 from every pot regardless to size?

I assume you mean 2-4 going. What about 1-2?

A few questions since you're there and can get the answers.

Is the rake 5.00 to 50.00 or like Penn National did they make it 6.00 to 60.00?

Can you ask what the official comp rate is per hour?

I hope you mean 3/6 limit not 2/4. That would be a travisty, and I would be driving back to Delaware Park to continue playing.

Re: Harrah's Chester, PA Casino & Racetrack Poker Room

They have 2-4 and 3-6. Weird.

Tons of 1-2. Quite a few waiting for 1-2. They are very slowly opening new tables.

Not sure about comps. People that might know are really busy. I'm just going to check my comp balances online to determine the comps.

Rake is up to $5.

The most common game in pretty much every poker room.

Don't give bad information on a board like 2 plus 2.

First, most casino's don't care much about poker room players unless they make the trip out to the other table games or slots, they get the house comp hourly rate.

I've played at Ceaser's and Harrah's for many years and have yet to be offered a free room in Vegas and I go to Vegas two times per year. I get the poker room rate and that's it. But, I do not play other games and they have my address. I have called and asked for free rooms and was told, NO.

Second, you have no idea what the comp rate is at Chester and can only hope for a dollar an hour, but that PA tax rate is coming out of somewhere. We've already had it confirmed that the rake is 5.00 and that's good cause it's only a dollar a hand more than AC, Dover Downs or Delaware Park.

A friend of mine puts in a lot of time at 2/5 NLHE @ Caesar's AC and Harrah's AC. I can personally attest to the fact that he received comped rooms for five nights in Las Vegas three weeks ago @ Caesar's Palace. I know because I shared the room with him. He plays only poker. He is a Platinum cardholder--not Diamond, not 7 Stars, but Platinum.

So you must not be putting in the same amount of time he does. FWIW, I think he goes to AC about once every two weeks during the summer and once per month during the other seasons. While in AC, he probably plays 20-30 hours of 2/5 NLHE per trip.

In my personal experience in AC, I've found the Taj to be the most generous with room offers, followed by Harrah's properties, followed by Borgata, but that is changing. Borgata is becoming more generous by the day and Stan's presence on 2+2 has helped a lot of players get comped or poker rate rooms even if their player accounts don't have offers. Taj and Harrah's continue to have pretty generous offers re comped rooms.

EDIT to add: I personally have received steeply reduced room rates and comped room offers for two nights free at Vegas Harrah's casinos based on poker-only play in Atlantic City as well. I didn't think to mention that earlier because my friend's story is a much better counterpoint to your accusation of "bad information" than my own story.

I am also a Platimun cardholder by playing poker only. I have never received free rooms in Vegas nor comp rooms in Atlantic City for a Friday or Saturday. How can you explain that?

The comp rate at Chester has not been verified by anyone yet. Let's not get crazy with the comments.

Also very interesting that there have been comments about inexperienced dealers today... where are the AC transplants for Day 1???

Being a lowly 1-2 player may explain the difference between what Harrah's comps you and what they've offered me. But, I used to play their 10:15 (? 10:30) tournament twice a week and then log another four or five hours in the 1-2 game and I haven't received a offer of comp room in either Vegas or AC in my mail. I have asked for the poker room rate once in AC, but was told that the poker rooms were sold out, only regular room rates were available. This, last spring after a late night at Harrah's. The last time I went to Vegas, I called Harrah's and asked for a comp room and was told .... NO. Ceasar's did offer me a poker room rate of 135.00 which was pretty good. But, maybe because I'm a 1-2 player and you play 2-5 you get better comps. Some rooms do offer 2-5 players more to play there.

The point being that Harrah's Chester will not likely offer free rooms to 1-2 players unless they're playing other games. Let me ask you Rapini, do you know what Harrah's Chester will be offering and do you know that 2-5 players will get comp rooms in Vegas for playing at Harrah's Chester? Because that's the information I submit is bad. Nobody has yet to confirm the comp rate at Chester. Maybe you can enlighten the rest of us.

Don't take my word for it if you don't want; I believe Lovesantiques and a couple other B&M Forum regs can also attest to the fact that you can receive room offers (and more) at different Harrah's locations based only on poker play.

So although I don't really think I need to explain it, I could venture an educated guess based on what I've read on 2+2 if you think my opinion would be worthwhile.

It's been said in B&M before that the level of card you hold doesn't mean nearly as much as your tier score and the way you earned those points. I wish I could find the post, but someone who seemed very knowledgeable on the topic said that it is possible for a Gold member to have better room offers than a Platinum member or even a Diamond member if the way the Gold member earned his points are more in line with what HET wants to see when they're giving out offers. So maybe the limits at which you're playing, the properties at which you're playing, or the days/times at which you're playing are less desirable to HET for whatever reason than my friend's account.

Additionally, I should have stated that my friend was not comped weekend nights @ Caesar's Palace, only weekdays. (WRUMT, not FS) My personal comped Vegas offers were not valid on weekend nights either.

I am also a "lowly" 1/2 player when I play NLHE. (I prefer LHE, O8, PLO, etc.) It's my friend who is the 2/5 player. In my experience, the timing of your request for comped or poker rate rooms is everything. I believe the sooner your request a comped room after you receive the offer the better your chances are of getting one, exponentially so, because as you let time pass more and more of the rooms that are budgeted for being comps get taken by other poker players with the same offer codes.

I absolutely believe the story you related to us above; I'm merely letting you know that many others both on 2+2 and off 2+2 have had different experiences.

I have no clue what the comp rate will be @ Harrah's Chester for poker and I won't know until I play there sometime in November or December, unless someone else posts it here before that. When you quoted a poster who said HET was the best with comps and gave free rooms in Vegas and then said "don't post bad information," I figured you were referring to the free Vegas rooms. Ambiguous antecedents cause... ambiguity. Sorry if you took offense, but I thought it was pretty clear from your post and the post you quoted that you were accusing newdawn of fabricating his claim that HET customers can receive comped rooms in Las Vegas through only poker play.

If a room wants to spread 2/4, then the next limit should be 4/8 and NOT 3/6. Ideally the lowest limit game should be 3/6 (or 4/8), but that's a whole other topic.

Harrah's in AC has 2/4 then 4/8 mini-blind as it's next limit.

Re: Harrah's Chester, PA Casino & Racetrack Poker Room

Just played some 3/6 for a couple hours. As mentioned the dealers were super inexperienced. They didn't know what a chop was, or half rake. I mean it's their first day and the players were cool about it trying to help them out. But after a while the slow dealing is a compounding problem when I remember I'm playing 3/6.

Talked to a guy who looked like a Manager when I got there. He said they'll spread whatever demand there is, so I put my initials up on 5/10, 10/20, and 15/30 interest. I dunno, it seems to me that if they just decided to run 5/10 instead of either 2/4 or 3/6, people would play that. So either Parx spread bigger limit games or I learn how to play NL well.

Also I tabled the 1st royal in the casino's history and they gave me squadoosh for it...on my 30th no less

There is a full 10/20 going now, $5 half hour time, $1 comp ( they may bump to $2. Floor is attentive. The whole floor is non smoking.
