nope, its at 375k, and it seems to be bringing in all of chesters finest folks. i see 2/5 nl players playing 2/4 limit trying to hit it its so funny.

About 6 to 9 2/4 tables going from 10 AM on. It is kind of funny. The only one winning at those tables is the house @ 5 plus 1. Why not just play slots?

Also, the 1/2 tables are a nit fest with everyone limping in. The entire game changes if the 1 in a couple million hands BBJ is the more important than playing poker.

cant wait until it hits so all the trash goes back into chester. but then u still have 200k in reserve after it hits. amazing what a bad beat will bring into the casino. never seen so many new faces, and i play there everyday.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Limp fest and people getting p'd off when I raise and it cost them $10-$18 to see the flop with their 3-7 of diamonds.....then insta folding any flop where they don't hit. Just a bunch of $10-$30 pots all night. Nobody playing poker.

I'm going to play there tonight for the first time. How does the BBJ work? Do all players in the Pokerroom share? Are tourney players excluded? Don't see much info on their website.

They need a live table updater like Parx as well as a bad beat counter. Good for marketing although they've already started pulling ahead of Parx lately in tables for the first time since Parx opened.

live table and bad beat updates would be great. but everyone knows how much the bad beat is up to by word of mouth, thats the reason chester is killing parx right now. if parx had a bad beat, everyone would be there trying to hit like they are now at harrahs. the 5+1 is really killing it right now, theres no way anyone can win but the house. chester is licking their chops right now with all the new faces coming in everyday trying to hit it. amazing what a bad beat will do

Yah, I am amazed at what the bad beat has done. This place was an absolute ghost town a couple months ago to the point where it looked like the expansion was all for not. I always thought the bad beat attracted recreational players but it seems like lots of grinders are chasing this thing.

I think the grinders are following the BB chasing tuna. Just a thought.

I'm so negative in bad beat jackpot all in ev this month. My horse got top boat in vs quads and ive been at the table with quads v boats two other times.

It doesn't change how I play but man it tilts me when I miss a 1/30 chance of hitting it when I have 50% of my friends action (no one else had the case card).

it almost hit the other day when pocket aces and pocket queens got it all in preflop, flop came AAQ, turn and river missed. turned out the last burn card was the queen, lol so close. everyone in the room watched, and started roaring and clapping when it didnt hit.

is this a trick question? What stakes do you think casual players are used to, from the home games that they probably frequent?

Wait, does the house create the tax documents to match the prize structure, or the deal structure? That's an important difference.

Sorry, Larry... my post could have been clearer.

Harrahs will issue tax documents to match the official prize structure, not the deal structure. Harrahs won't get involved in the private deal. They just want to be told who finished first, second, etc. They'll issue first place prize money and the equivalent tax documents to whomever they'll told is supposed to get it. If that player then gives away some of his prize in a chop according to the private deal structure, then the player could have a tax issue.

There are other threads in the B&M forum regarding what players can do to protect themselves against a tax liability for a prize that they did not completely receive.

I think they're just not poker people. For my money, poker rooms should be run by managers who know and play the game.

Was just there this afternoon and evening, had about a 5 hour session on the wildest 1/2 table I've been on in a while. Had some guy 2 seats to my right that kept on pushing 150 - 200bb deep with 20-40 bb pots off the flop with 3rd pair, etc. I was able to get him to stack off once with my 2nd nut flush to his 2 pair, couldn't get him to a 2nd time with my TPTK on the flop (normally I wouldn't shove flop with it but I knew I was sooo far ahead of this guy's range it was a no brainer) but he folded....wish I could have stayed longer, would have been a really good night.

Played 1/2/4 yesterday, 9pm-1am, then the game broke, but we got it going again around 3am. Game is so sick, I love it.

Is the max buy-in still $400? Seems to me it would play like a shortstacked 2-5 game, would that be accurate?

yea the max is $400, and even though people have asked for it to be raised to $500, they said couldn't, even though the floor agrees it should be $500. Best game imo.

also, I asked them about moving it on the wait list screens, putting 1/2/4 between 1/2 and 2/5 because it kinda gets lost where they have it now on the last screen and I bet most people don't even know about it at all, but I also got a no on that.
