There's so much confusion as to whether or not a new player has to post. Don't they go over this stuff in training?
I mean, I've never felt guilty about leaving a table when the blind gets to me even though some consider that poor etiquette. But these guys who sit down and say no to the BB, "I'll come in behind", and then expect not to post in the CO....are you kidding me? Do other places actually let them do this or are they just trying to pull one over on inexperienced dealers?
The norm is to let a new player sit. The dealer gives the player an
option to post or wait until the big blind comes to the player. This could be a house rule, but it seems consistent with the AC, Vegas, Tunica, and Indian Casinos.
On another note, has anyone asked if the room's rulebook is printed, or are they following the "Robert's Rules of Poker" by Bob Ciaffone that is the unofficial rules book used in a lot of rooms.
If a guidebook exists, every one can be to use a terrible cliche, on the same page -- dealers, floor personnel and players.
