I remember I came into town a few years ago when LSU played Bama and the Saints played the Lions.

The games were ridiculous.

Yeah, it hasn't been working for a few days now for some reason. It'll load on the Bravo website.

Could any regulars venture an educated guess at what the minimum bet at paigow poker would be if I were to show up late at night tomorrow or Friday? Also, would there likely be any limit games (LHE or LO8) running?

Not sure about Paigow.

There'll be a 4/8 lhe game, 4/8/12 lhe/omaha, and Fridays sees a 15/30 omaha high game run. Haven't seen any O8 run here.

Just spent a couple of days visiting the big easy and this room. Liked the room and the staff did a fine job running the room. Dealers were good, with only a couple of mistakes in 3 visits.

Only played the 1-3 nl game,, I did well, unlike my wife. The game played deeper then the normal 1-3 games I'm use to, with buy one ranging from 100 to over 500; never asked or saw a cap being enforced. Only standard straddle allowed utg. Most raises of 13-15 perflop saw 3-5 people going to the flop, people willing to gamble with gapped unsuited cards, so you never really knew where you were at. I raised to 13 with AA early position had 5 to the flop of A24 off suit, checked the flop and had better for 35, folds to me, call, trying to keep one more player in but he folds. Turn is the case A, check, he fires 70, I call after pointing out the last quards promotion to be paid out is the A's, and call, don't remember the river, but I shove for about 206, and get called after about 30 seconds. He had flopped the straight with 35 suited, wish it was a straight flush for the bad beat, besides the quad promo, but the extra 300 helped make up for the wife's losses.

Will visit again.

rake at 2/5 NL is the same as rake for 1/3... 10% up to $5 max
$1 for promotion/jackpot once pot reaches $10
$2 for promotions/jackpot if pot is more than $20

no flop, no drop

BTW - 2/5 plays super deep (and much like many 5/10s elsewhere) because you can always buy in for 100% of the biggest stack at the table
(1/3 is the same - depending on players, it can play like a typical 2/5)

Sorry if this has been posted/asked for before; does this poker room take call ins? If so what's the phone number?

If they don't, how long does it usually take for weekend nights from putting your name on a 2/5 list to actually sitting down and playing?

Thank you

Ya they take call-ins except for during big tourney series. (504) 533-6043. Just remember that they also give priority on the list to diamonds and 7stars so even if you call in you may get jumped in line a few times.

Fun room. Spent the holiday weekend there playing 1/3, cashed +1k. Super relaxed atmosphere, dealers dont really enforce much of the etiquette and in general seem pretty poor. Still had a good time though, will probably come back sometime.

What is the difference between the 1/3 no limit and the 1/3 no limit Mississippi straddle games?

Assuming just a mandatory straddle on the button? Straddle is $6? or $5?

normal 1/3 allows only an UTG straddle, Miss straddle is an optional straddle from any position, button has priority.

both are 6$. the Miss straddle games have tended to play deeper.

The biggest stack rule. Do you have to buy in to be able to match the biggest stack when you first sit down?

Or can you add on later to match the biggest stack

You can add on up to the biggest stack at any time that you're not in a hand.

Just wanted to say pretty disappointed with this room's complete refusal to even entertain the idea of getting a small PLO game running. There's one PLO game running in the entire 20ish table room and it's a 10/25 game w/ like 5k average stacks. I go to the front desk and ask hey do you think later when the games start to break we can attempt to get a small PLO game either 1/2 or 5/5 going? Guy was just honestly really rude and laughed me off telling me not to waste my time. Pretty poor customer service IMO and don't really see why we wouldn't be able to get the game going.

Yeah, the customer service is really hit or miss. I'd recommend making a complaint, but I'm not sure if that would even get anything done. As good as the games are, competition just makes them not care about any poker room improvements, sadly. Compared to the Beau, who just improved their comps system because a new casino opened down the road, Harrah's in Nola is a joke. The poker room promos are usually nothing to brag about either.

Don't get me wrong, it's great for tourists and people coming in for a few days. But if you're looking for good promos, comps, etc., as a reg, don't hold your breath.
