On Mardi Gras day, awesomer is in fact a word.

The new promotion is such a joke. Paying people out for hitting Royal flushes lol. That's literally the only promotion that we have, outside of the bbj. I've taken to Twitter to blast them on the absurdness of the entire situation, but my hopes aren't high for a response.

Management has been subpar for a while now. It's pathetic. The room needs lots of improvements.

The only things that keep me around are the good games and it being the only room around. If the games weren't so damn good, they'd be in even more trouble.

Good games and the only room around? Sounds great to me! Who needs promotions when you have a monopoly and the games are good?

I used to live near Pensacola, and I can confirm that Pensacola, Mobile, Biloxi, (and other cities I'm sure) try to pretend they have Mardi Gras but of course they all are poor substitutes. NO is way awesomer.

So then it follows that Harrah's must be a business.

A business that just filed for Chapter 11, but that's besides the point.

As a regular of the room, it sucks. There's not much effort put forth by management to improve the room. That's the point I'm trying to make here, not whether Harrah's is making good or bad business decisions overall.

I think your rant is a bit disjointed. You complain that "lots of improvements" are needed and that "[t]here's not much effort put forth by management to improve the room."

What improvements do you think management should make that would be good business decisions? And what incentive does management have to improve the room if the games are good and when they're currently running 11 games in a 20-table room on a Sunday night/Monday morning at midnight?

Finally, here's the actual promotions from BravoPokerLive:

The square promo is new and was just put up this evening, afaik.

One of the reasons the room is busy is because the bbj is so high. This is normally a slower time in the poker room, at least until Mardi Gras comes around next month. The promos being run last spring were actually worth paying attention to.

I'm the only one "complaining" on here, but I'm far from the only reg complaining in the room. We just don't have a voice with management, it's as simple as that., and it's frustrating from our perspective.

Table side food service would improve the room. Better chairs would improve the room. Better comps in general would improve the room. Those are only a few things I've actually heard from visitors, not regs. But again, it's easy for management to completely ignore us when they have a monopoly on the city.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Objectively, I can neither argue with nor accept as fact your assertion that the room is busy because the BBJ is high.

It sounds like you have some concrete complaints that are common with other regulars in the room. The way you get management's attention is to talk to a shift manager and let them know the specific improvements you and others would like to see. Figure out what leverage you have and use it. It might be as simple as you and the other regulars not playing there anymore if they don't make the improvements you request. Even better could be organizing a night to make the room go dark until certain requests are granted.

Check out the Hollywood Columbus and Hollywood Charles Town threads for more on how local regulars there were able to get concessions from management.

There aren't a lot of posts on the issue, but:

-Bad promos lately (3-5 months worth) while paying possibly the highest rake + drop in the country
-Mediocre management for some time now
-Compared to lots of other rooms, there is much room for improvement

Also, I'm planning to let them know about the lack of an online voice. I feel as if that would help a lot. Johnny Grooms from the Beau is active on here when he has a series going, and he's willing to help with questions and listen to suggestions.

Hey guys looking for some travel advice and figured this mightthe place. Few questions and sorry for my naivety on the subject. A friend of mine are looking to travel to New Orleans as we have never been. We both play poker and would like to stay at or close to a casino, how far are they from New Orleans and the "New Orleans experience"? Are there multiple around in one area? I know there is Harrahs new orleans. How far are they from the airport. Any help is greatly appreciated, feel free to post answers or pm me. tried checking bravo but didnt have much success and there is no FAQ here, what kind of action do they get in terms of games stakes and table selection?

Thanks
