This is not standard when I have won or seen others win in LV or elsewhere. There are rules and I will not purport to know them but I have one $599 a couple of time in LV and never got a 1099. I was in LV two weeks ago and a buddy hit a straight-flush for $250 and no one ever said a word about ID or 1099s

Seems to me Harrah's is going a bit too far and likely you wouldn't have seen a 1099 anyway but we shall see.

You only get one at the end of the year if the total is over $600. So you can hit this payout 5 times and never get a 1099. If you hit it over 600 total you will get one.

I have hit this many times before this year and I never received one but that's what happens here. I hit mine in harrahs Vegas last year and they did the same thing. I also his one in Caesars Vegas, and Wynn last year. They all do it the same.

First tourney should be 6/12. Should be around $150-200

I just called the poker room there and I was told no tournaments, can anyone else confirm this?

I also heard they had crazy rules like you can't wear headphones, and when players move to a new table they can only bring the max $200 to the new table?

Let me know what you guys have heard?

-I called last night and the guy I got said 6/14 pending Illinois Gaming approving. I also know a few of the dealers and they're saying the same thing. $200 buyin is what I heard as well.

-No headphones. From what I've heard they were going to have headphones, but Hollywood Joliet, who put it in their rules by choice, complained it was an unfair advantage and IGB agreed...

-Max for 1-3 is 300, not sure if they force you to drop down if force moved.

They are starting tournaments on June 12th. Every Sunday afternoon and Thursday night. Sunday at 1pm and Thursday nights at 7pm.

I play there a lot and the headphone rule is state wide not just Harrahs. So can't blame them on that one.

The moving table goes like this: If it is a must move you bring everything with you. If you want to move tables, you must bring over the same as a new player between $100-300 max. I like this rule because it would be unfair if I moved to the next table with all my chips.

Let's say I took all the chips from table 1 and moved to table 2 with $700. I end up wiping out that table and move to table 3 with $1400. The next table would be in trouble knowing I am bringing over such firepower. So I really like the rule because it is only fair on the next table so I can't keep loading up and moving on. Good call Harrahs.

I feel like people going south would be a bigger problem then someone causing more action with a deep stack.

some of these rules are just ridiculous. No headphones? Forced going south? Sounds fun.

Are you allowed to bring reading material to the table? How about food from home?

I have seen a man with a book no one said anything, not sure about the food

They have a little 'Ace's Diner', which provides some finger food and pub-type fare. Surprised that they'll allow outside food in.

Take break. Drive out to Blue Chip or Four Winds and get some fresh country air.

What about the tier points ? Come on harrahs 30 miles away gives them, yes I know different state. More people then you think don't like 1-3 , that's why you only have 2 tables on Tuesday afternoon and Hollywood is still in business your fighting over the same casual player. From the same small pool of players.

Update, they also will have one on Tuesday.*

*Pending Gaming approval

They had a sign up that said the Sunday tourney was going to be 20 min rounds. 200 +25, $10 add on for 1000 chips. Can't release the structure sheet until they get gaming board approval.
20 min rounds = bad. 20 min rounds were the norm here before horseshoe opened. Horseshoe's Sunday tourney is $200 with 30 min rounds and 5000 chips. definitely not worth playing Harrahs tourney.

If you elect to move tables, you can bring table stakes to the new table.

If they break a game, or force you to move, you keep your stack whatever the amount.

Fwiw, I drove from Chicago recently and stayed til the game broke. Was super tired and not looking forward to driving an hour exhausted. Checked at the hotel and was able to get a room comped. Room was surprisingly nice suite and totally free.

Just read on Harrah's Facebook.

Half Rake on every Limit game they offer from now until July 1st.

Limit Hold'em and Omaha games half rake. I'm on my way down now. Anyone interested in playing Omaha tonight? Or 10-20 Limit?

Thanks for the post. That is the best poker news I've heard in a long time. I'm getting in on that, while it lasts.
