Drove up yesterday from Spartanburg, 2hrs.
One of
those sessions.
Arrive, have a nice dinner, in the hotel, not the casino, very good.
The poker room has 6/7 tables going, all Hold'em, no PLO8. They open the last table, 1/2 NL; I take a seat.; buy-in for $140. One guy is LA, playin' almost every hand. I have 45s on the button, about seven players limp; I call.
Flop comes 2-3-6 rainbow; yep, I flop a str, it checks around; I check; turn is a K, I bet $10, one caller, the LA guy, river is a 3; he goes all-in; (He had made several over-size bets) I'm thinkin', surely he hasn't made a boat, but I was wrong; he did; he had 2/3. Rebuy.
The last hand: Look down at AA; someone had made it $5; I raise to $20, two callers. Flop, 10-10-2; I push, about $70, one caller. He has 99. Turn is a blank, and yep, the good ole river is a 9! The ole two-outer kicks my butt.
Before the AA hand, had lost another decent size pot, again on the river.
I know this happens, but last night was just a little much. I never won a showdown, not one.
