Hello,

I thought a quick post might help answer various questions that have popped up recently.

PokerPro™ uses a normal 52 card deck that is automatically shuffled before each hand by a GLI-certified Random Number Generator and then fixed. We then deal as expected including actually burning cards.

GLI (Gaming Labs International) is the worldwide leader in gaming equipment testing and certification for regulated casinos. You can find more information about GLI here. www.gaminglabs.com

In addition to the RNG, all PokerPro hardware and software is GLI Certified.

Thanks

PTLou

One table in back corner had problems one night for one seat in particular. It required a lot of pressure to input and multiple taps to input call, raise, fold etc. Several times we had to call floor for a screen calibration, or the player would request a new seat. They finally moved the entire table. Not a big deal, but when things like this happen with electronic tables, people seem to complain more. As noted before, if there is a more serious issue that affects entire room then it has the same effect as a a dealer strike and no poker can be played Other times you will experience a delay that lasts for say 20 seconds. Rare, but happens. Not a big delay, but people complain based on their expectations that things will always run smooth.

Personally, I think the tables are great but can understand how some don't view it as "real" poker. For me, the only thing I miss is having chips to play with and also witnessing the reactions (tells) that other people display when handling chips and/or cards.

Don't be surprised if the rake on the live tables is higher than the pokertek tables. You know Cherokee likes to maximize profits at the expense of the players.

I doubt the rake structure will change. It's been confirmed the rate that u receive tier points and reward points will change.

Now u get 26 tier points and 70 reward points per 40 hands

When live dealers start then u will get the tier credits and reward points per hour.

Has anyone heard how live tables will change the ADT? I’ve heard somewhere Cherokee figures your average loss playing poker at $15/hr. Hopefully this will not go down. But if live tables are cheaper for the room then PokerTec it may stay the same.

I like to grind out long session so once a year I can receive a very cheap or free room in LV. I’ve given up hope of getting a room at Cherokee. :-)

I like to go up more often but the 90 minute ride one way is killing me. Anybody from the area of Clemson want to car pool on Saturday's and split the cost?

I'm known as KK on the propoker machines.

Suggestion for Anthony:

With the NFL season set to kick off and with so many poker players being avid fans/bettors/fantasy freaks, can the poker room's sat TVs be wired to receive NFL Network and Direct TV's Red Zone?

This extra customer service would make many regular players very happy - or at least those players whose seats are facing the bank of TVs.

I'm sure customers throughout the casino would appreciate this as well.

My first trip to Cherokee was in June and offers started coming through the mail in July, including offers for free nights Sunday-Thursday. I tend to play 8-16 hour sessions and no slots.

Maybe just ask at the front desk. I've only stayed once and it was free and they gave a nice upgrade to a very nice room.

Updated.

Maybe a Sunday tournament can be added next month. Hello, Cherokee staff and support people.

I came here to post the same question. I'm in Atlanta and am looking to drive up some Sundays during the football season, but if I don't have a chance to watch the Falcons, then I'd probably stay home.

Is the Sunday Ticket going to be in the poker room? Are there plans to add a few more t.v.s since the location of the ones in the room is somewhat strange?

Strange is an understatement. There are too many TV's on one wall, and not enough (or none) on other walls. I am guessing it is because that room was not originally designed for poker and maybe they were too lazy to wire all the walls for TV. I left early yesterday (Saturday) to go home and watch college football because I could not get a seat were I could see the TV's.

The other thing that drives me crazy is that they will usually not open a new table even if there are 9 people on the wait list. On Friday night I was asking the guy running the room (at the time) to open a new table for the 9 people on the wait list, and he was afraid that if he opened a new table, then if some left (or never showed up) and seats opened on other tables, he might have to break down the table and move players to other tables with seats open. What's the big deal? Fine, if later you want to break a table and send players to another table with open seats, then do it. But it is ridiculous to have stand around for 20-30 minutes waiting when 8-9 people are on the wait list to play the same game. With the PokerPro machines, I don't see what the problem is with a short-handed table anyway.

Of course that was not as bad as few weeks ago, when there were more than 10 people on the wait list, but the woman running the room did not know how to open a new table, and we had to wait 15 minutes for another guy to come back from his lunch break.

The staff (only exception is Anthony) is too lazy to make a "must move" table.

Everyone should get on the Panthers bandwagon and you won't have any problem catching your favorite game each week in the poker room!

All kidding aside, I'll look into it. It would be nice to offer every game, but I can't make any promises.

I should have clarified my post as free weekend rooms. Ive received that once, but I figure it was a computer error in my favor. On the weekend I normally win enough at poker to cover a room at one of the local hotels and some extra. How are the games during the week, ? I've heard from friends that while the games are beatable, they are not nearly easy as during the weekend.

It was great. I went on tilt in the PLO game.

One of these days *craps* isn't going to get me even.

PLO is picking up some steam. It makes me suspicious That I'm the live one.

Looks like Fri-Sat you have a great shot of a $1-$2 PLO and even a PLO/8 going. The start mid to late afternoon.

Other than that, if you have a long drive, don't drive up expecting to find one.

Where is the bolded information available? It's always seemed mysterious to me.

The person to ask is Anthony in the poker room. The rest of the staff will give you mixed information.

I agree that is much easier to make money on weekends than during the week. During the week it is mostly retired guys who have a fair amount of experience and not as likely to be out of control. Obviously, these are generalizations, and there are always exceptions (sometimes big exceptions). I have come to the conclusion that the higher weekend hotel rates are worth the chance to play on weekends.

Only if one has a seat on the correct side of about half the tables (or one is undergoing an exorcism).
