Any idea of when the new poker room will open and how many tables they will have?

Not exactly sure on either one. All I know is what the floor told me last night which was they are going to move the poker room before the completion of the expansion to a new location that should hold around 15 tables. After the expansion is done in 2012, they are planning to have a 25-30 table poker room. I have heard many contradicting dates concerning the first move of the poker room to 15 tables so I do not have a suitable answer as to when that will happen.

Players are earninc RC's and Teir Credits now. I am not sure how many Tier Credits we are getting, but it is pretty substantial. I should be upgraded by the end of the week.

As far as the expansion, the most informed rumor I have heard is that they will get a few more tables when they move to a temporary home on the other side of the existing casino in feb or mar. And the the poker room will be expanded to 20 tables when they move to the upper level of the new building. (there is supposed to be room for 30 tables)

I do not believe we are getting Tier credits right now for poker. I just logged in to my total rewards where my RC's have updated while my Tier credits stayed the same since I played only poker in Cherokee.

There is some problem going on with the way things are being updated based on conversations with a handful of players. Its being updated manually and therein likely lies the problem.

Based on my experience with the staff the date we can expect it to be done correctly is likely going to be never unless they write some code to pull it off the poker server automatically.

That's pretty pathetic considering 366 hours of 1/2 no limit in Atlantic City will get you Diamond.

With the same rake, in a perfect world you would get the same number of tier credits an hour but since they have no competition in Cherokee it wouldn't surprise me if it did take 500 hours to earn 4K TC's.

That sounds a lot closer to what it should be. I don't know about AC but at Harrah's Las Vegas I believe you get around 24 tier credits an hour which would mean you could achieve Diamond status after 459 hours of play.

what would diamond status get you in cherokee nc

Diamond status in Cherokee.....gets you basically nothing outside of comped valet parking and entrance into the diamond lounge there. Rooms are for the most part scarce unless you are willing to stay outside of the casino in a participating hotel. I guess the only bonus to earning the diamond in cherokee is that the card is good everywhere else.

I'm going to be close to harrahs next weekend and have always wanted to try the pokerpro tables. I missed them at Trump Plaza in AC by 2 weeks and at the Excalibur in Vegas by a month. I was wondering what games they normally spread and are there any wait times?

thanks
-Brian

You can always count on them having 1/2 NL, 3/6 FL and sometimes a 2/5 NL game will run on the weekend. Other games have run before and the tables are capable of running them, but the player pool doesn't regularly support any other games currently. On a Friday night you shouldn't encounter too long of a wait no matter when you show up. If you plan on playing on Saturday, be there by 4PM if you don't want to be there on a 30+ player list that will never really die down until one or two in the morning. Good luck at the tables.

Well I have decided to make the drive up again (from Atlanta) today as well. I plan on playing into the early hours of the morning before making my way back for work saturday afternoon. Should be fun, hope it goes well.

How are the games during the week? The weekend would be optimal for sure, but it's tough to make on the weekends. Any games going (and are they any good) during the weekdays?

You will always find 1/2 NL and 3//6 limit in the afternoon-evening anyday.

The tables will be mixed with tight grinders and loose players. Some players will call a pre-flop raise with any baby Ace, or small pairs.

The issue of server failures needs to be addressed. Twice now, that I know of, the entire poker room has been shut down. In these cases the ongoing hands were not played out nor where equity calculations done to split the pot due to regulations in place for the range of electronic play. Bets simply go back.

This is not acceptable and will have to be addressed in some way before larger cash games and or significant MTTs are run.

Individual tables have gone down more frequently.

The PokerPro people need to get in here and blame this on Harrah's cheapness (skimped on hardware?) or else they take the hit on quality and reliability.

How long was the poker room shut down? It would suck to make the drive and can't play.

It's not shut down, just got done raking in $$ the past 2 days and it is full of FISH. LOOSE, PASSIVE, FISH. Even the "regs" are god-awful limping, no value-betting pseudo-poker players (atleast from what I saw, can't speak for all). Fwiw, their site says if you are coming from I-40 East to take take an extra 2 hour detour up to Johnson City, TN, over to Asheville, etc...do not! Once through I-40 Knoxville, go through Gatlingurg and straight through the mountains. Time from Knoxville to Casino was 1 hr 45 mins...Harrah's recommended detour...roughly 4 hours. I will post a full trip report tomorrow, it was fun times to say the least.

Played on a week night, only had 1 table past 2 am. Was playing 5-handed by 4am and 3-handed by 5am. So...not quite, during the week atleast. Still, 3-handed or HU is amazing for an online SH/HU player. The downside: everyone there has their settings set to auto-chopping the blinds and they seem to frown upon forcing them to play blind vs blind...a real shame.

I went there last month to observe the 1/2 NL play. Seems like a LAG or TAG could print money. There is plenty of limping and TAG's get action from non observant players. I'm planning on making regular trips there before the word gets out.

They are not advertising the Poker Room.

I hope not to experience server problems or down tables as one poster experienced.
