I can't offer much help here, but I was up there and played the 2am tourney last week and they had 23 entries and first prize was $325 (I chopped first head up for $260.) It may not be a big payday, but it was a really good tourney. Blinds move fast, but the pokerpro tables get plenty of hand/hour so it's all good.

At 2am Tuesday? I think you might be thinking of the $60 7 pm tourney. I didn't play that one so I don't know about the numbers of it, but I was there for the 2 am one Tuesday (well, technically Wednesday morning) and there were far fewer than that. I mean, I badly wish 1st was $1200, but sadly it was not.

Anyone care to speculate on the positioning and reorganizing of the poker room layout once live dealer tables begin?

I wonder if the initial tables will be placed in the back room area by the fridge (which has a more private feel & will require brighter lighting) or if they will move things around and put the live dealer tables out front visible from the outside so prospective curious bystanders may see. Hopefully they make better use of the open space from the gigantic foyer. In any case I would hope that the designated cashier would have to go 24/7.

Anyone playin' in the $250-O/8 event on April 14 at 5:00 pm? Yes it is a non-ring event, and kinda wraps up the tourney series? Just wondering.

Is there much risk that wsopc tournaments could fill up?

If I arrive an hour before the tournament starts can I assume I will have no problem getting a seat?

Probably will be playing Event 2 $365 NLH on 4/5, not the Main Event.

Thanks

Good question. I am planning to play on Sun 4/7 2:00 PM as my first event and was hoping to show up about 1 hour ahead of time after a 3 hour drive to casino.

I am also wondering if WSOP-C events can be paid from our Total Rewards card poker balance, or do we need cash? What about travelers checks? I have a feeling that Harrah's cashiers are going to get swamped during the entire event, even just for people playing cash games (PokerPro or live dealers).

drove up to Cherokee from Atlanta for the second time in 2 weeks. This may become a habit.

Didn't play much poker. We got there at ~11am, and played the pit games for a few hours. By the time I visited the poker room a tournament had started and there were only four cash games running. I was extremely interested in the 1/2 PLO, but the average stack at the table was around ~$2,000. If I brought more money I would have sat down, but it was a little too rich for me.

I did sit at the 1/2 NL...not sure why. I spotted: 3 old man coffees, 3 TAGs, 3 average guys, and myself. Not a lot of money on the table either, but I sat down anyway just to get a feel for the pokerpro tables. Overall I liked them. Pretty easy to figure out. This table was really boring, but I attribute that to the ~50 players in a tournament. I imagine the table may have been more juicy if they were in the cash games instead. Anyway I left after about an hour and went back to the pit games.

Hit a full house on Let it Ride for $495 ($165 * 3), so that was nice. Lost a quick $200 on blackjack. Bought in for $100 at three-card-poker and ran it up to $800. Nothing crazy, just playing the ante and beating the dealer. That 6-card bonus (not to mention the pair plus) is such a ripoff. Don't know why people play it.

My wife and I counted our chips, and figured all things considered we were up $400 for the day. Not bad. So we decide to play more hand, and she throws $25 out there on the pair plus and doesn't let me look at her cards, but I do see that she purses her lips as if to stifle a smirk and I know she's got at least a flush. Dealer turns her hand over and it's the beautiful A-2-3 of diamonds, for a nice $1,000 score. Not a bad way to end the evening. We tip the dealer and immediately leave the casino, back to Atlanta.

I love that plo game... sad I missed it last weekend while I was in vegas. A lot of times it plays as 1-2-4 or recently turned into 2-5. regardless it plays very big but lots of people buyin for 100-300 (repeatedly)... Cant wait to head back up this weekend. It usually starts Friday night by 7ish and will run straight through until Sunday afternoon, average pot size can swing from 200-800 regularly as the player pool switches gears.

Also, to any that worry about the pokerpro tables, I think they are very enjoyable, fun and easy to play. As for the competition level at the casino, you only have to be better than those you play against and the winning regs at Cherokee dont seem to play against very tough competition...

There's no official date, but we're certainly hopeful that we can get things off the ground this month.

Are you talking about craps, roulette, etc? They have a high-roller area, so I doubt the limits would restrict very many people. I saw a guy put down $400 on "black" for one roll of roulette, and that was not even in the high roller area. He placed that one bet, lost, and walked away.

I've only been on the weekend, but....

craps-- lowest I've seen is $10. Mostly $15.
bj-- lowest is $5, but only 1 or 2 tables. Most others in the pit are $15 and $25.
3 card-- $10
let it ride-- $5 and $10
