Hey Lou, do you guys give tours often, or was this just a one time thing? I live in the Charlotte/Matthews area and wouldn't mind checking the place out

I agree. A lot of players are upset out there, and with reason. I heard the onus is on PokerPro, so I also am wondering whats going on. I work in the IT industry, and work with a lot of software and know that getting things to work together can be hard, however, how hard can it be? Harrahs is making a lot of money on this poker room, and there are a lot of regulars keeping the game going during the week. A sandwhich every now and then would be nice. We cant even get a Red Bull unless your a 7-star.
The poker managers are tired of hearing it and I'm tired of hearing it from the players. I hear it almost every day. I dont complain out there, because I know its not going to do any good, but I am not the norm on this issue.
Maybe if you cant get it going, you push for the ability for poker room managers to write up a comp of some sort? In Tunica, they just write them up, and its not based on such a rigid system.

Harrah's Cherokee trip report:

They had six 1/2 games and one 2/5 game. We played for about 6 hours. I made 2k, should have been 7k blah blah blah. The play was worse than your average live play. Ie. I got it in for a 2k pot with AK vs QQ on a A33 flop. He said he thought I was bluffing.

I think the PokerPro tables are fantastic! They are super easy to use. You get to see about 40hands/hr. I see no advantage to having real cards and chips and dealers that you have to tip. It still has the feeling of a live game, and of course players with live game skillz.

Suggestion: Auto reload to the max.

I think that Pokerpro will eventually be the norm and not the exception once people play on them.

Bad news: The people there were all on meth it seemed.

That would be me. You were on my immediate right...I THOUGHT I smelled 2p2 on you!

Shoulda known...99 had been a hot hand all day long. Him (LAG big-stack), 99; me, 66; flop, 764 (2 clubs), AI $800 on the flop; turn 9; so long, thanks for playing. I just FELT the 9 coming, too.

Can't complain, though...I was still up a bit for the trip (I made it all back the next day) and it was my first time on the bad end of a set-over-set in almost 3 years.

Now, as far as your question on comps (or, lack thereof)...They're the only game in town, they don't HAVE to sell it. The caliber of players there is "comps" enough for me, as well as being a short enough drive from the west side of ATL for a Saturday day trip.

Yes, I know what you mean. Last Saturday, a maniac ran all over the tables up to a 1600 stack. He got moved to another table, and me being the greedy poker player, moved next to him. He raised 15 pre with every hand he played. I limped with QQ UTG....of course, he fell into my plan and raised pre...I made it $150 to go. He instantly reraised all-in, I snap called. The pot was $1000.

He had pocket eights. I had a bad feeling. The flop came 7 9 10; two hearts.....about the worse you could hope for, other than an eight popping off. Turn was a queen of hearts, which took away a few outs, but gave him a flush draw. So I had to dodge an open ended straight draw and a heart....Of course, a heart dropped off on the river.

Whats worse, is he chilled out, so I never really was able to trap him, or get him involved again. I think he felt he was on the ropes. He left about an hour later. I ended up getting most of it back from some other people he put on tilt.

Can anyone tell me what the weekday action is like in Cherokee? I get the sense that Saturdays are packed, but what's it like on a Wednesday or Thursday night?

I have not seen an activity report for a few weeks so my info would be two weeks old. There is defeintely all the 1/2NL and 3/6LHE you want all days of the week. sometime 2/5 at night during the week, but usually at least one table of it on weekends.

Bobaby? Guitar? any udpate on action during the week over the past few weeks?

next time I get an updated report I will post exactly what sort of action to expect each day

Thanks, Lou. I've got a week off from work coming up in July, and I've got plans for both weekends but some time in between where I might be tempted by a poker excursion. Just depends on how far I want to drive, I suppose.

The 2/5 has been struggling lately. If one gets going during the week, it wont last long. but usually it wont even happen. Just this past Friday, it ran for about 3 or 4 hours, and died, and it was short handed for a while.

All the 1/2 you want, basically anytime. Usually always a 3/6 game except real late, and maybe not one during the day.

2/5 was pretty good from about 3 till at least 1 last night. Friday it was shorthanded for about 1/2 the night. Although, I heard several regs say it was a slow weekend, don't know if it was a trend.

O8 has kicked off a few times but usually short and doesn't go long enough.

Problem is getting all you guys that want to play to show up at the same time. If you all picked a game/limit and time/day to show up I am pretty sure we could confirm the table would be ready to go for that game with no waiting.

Played Saturday.

At 4 pm the 1/2 list was only six people long, although it got much longer pretty quickly after that. My table kind of sucked for a long time, then got ok, then about midnight went nuts and for about 4.5 hours after that average pot sizes never dipped below 100 bucks and topped out around 180 bucks a hand for a while. Table averages stayed high even after 2800 dollars walked away from the table in about a fifteen minute span. Fun table, though I ended up down seven dollars and seventy five cents which feels horrible considering how much money was flowing so loosely around the table. (To make up for it, I made 20 bucks on slots with the ten dollars of free slot play coupons harrah's sent me, brag brag).

Odd software problem was occuring however. Periodically, every single table would, at the same time, slow to a crawl, the hand in progress at each table would take 3-6 minutes to play and then the software would return to normal. Happened about 5 times during the 14 hours I played. I think I therefore pulled off what is likely the first string bet in the history of Poker Pro tables. We hit a one of those slow down hands when I had AA. I popped to 10 dollars, hit confirm bet. Wait...Wait....Wait.... Wait.... about 90 seconds later a single five dollar chip slid out onto the table. Wait ... Wait ... Wait ... Wait.... About sixty seconds after the first chip, a second five dollar chip slides onto the table. Nobody called me on the string bet though

In the good news category, alcohol has been approved for service at the casino. In the bad news category it's going to be another month and a half to three months before it actually starts flowing. In the further bad news category, they're going to charge the players for alcoholic drinks.

As an aside, you really have to make a major pig of yourself (or at least I do) at the prime rib buffet to get the food in ya in the thirty minutes you have before they give your seat away, if you take a break.

Zetack... glad to hear 1/2 action is long and strong..

Sorry about the delay during those hands. One nasty string bet.

I have logged an incident in our support group. Do you by chance rememeber a time that any one of the delays happened, just approximate.

Did this happen for a while and then stop, or did it randomly happen throughout the day?

Sounds like we added some reports or something that were trying to hog some resources. We need to get that fixed ASAP. Game play is supposed to ALWAYS have top priority.

Thanks for brining this up. Much appreciated. We will get it resolved.
