Depends on your tier status. Gold is 200 per $1 so $60. Dont know for platinum. Diamond is 175 per $1. 7 star 125 pts per $1.

Question about Cherokee:

It seems to generate the action of a somewhat bigger city... I know that it's a tourist destination, of sorts.

Is the player pool mostly visitors/tourists vs locals?

Just curious - thanks

I think it has a lot to do with being the only place for miles, for multiple boarding states

depends how you define tourists. only a minority live in (or near) Cherokee itself. there's not really any other casinos with poker anywhere nearby so they pull a majority from Atlanta, Knoxville, Athens, Asheville and Charlotte (all within a couple hours). that said there's still a lot of regs considering but likely a higher percentage of tourists then most casinos

I moved the recent discussion about other potential casinos to the North Carolina thread.

I'm pretty sure this is 'standard' across all poker rooms. has been in my experience.

So, I just read this entire thread. Very interesting for the history of the room. I remember calling them years ago and asking if they had poker and got the impression it was video poker only. So, I pretty much gave up on poker as online was my only option where I live prior to Black Friday. Then I read here about the PokerPro tables and am kicking myself in the butt for thinking it was video poker. I would have probably liked the electronic tables.

Now, it looks like the electronic tables are gone. I made my first trip there for the WSOPc in April and had a blast. I didn't play any cash, just a couple circuit events. In any case, I am planning on going up in August for next circuit and trying to hone my cash game some so I feel comfortable enough to play. I am pretty much a MTT and SNG guy.

So, one question for you here, is the Bravo app accurate? I am looking at it now and there are cash games listed, but the casino tourney info is all from 2017. The WSOPc is still listed for April 2019 and the August event has already been announced. I am new to this app, but looking at other casinos shows what appears to be up to date info.

Cash on Bravo is accurate as it is generated from table sending units.

Yes Bravo cash is accurate normally. But no it does not come from table units. It comes from computer at the check in desk. How would table unit know the wait list? With twenty games going whichbtable unit would be in charge?

Can someone tell me how the 2/5 games are here when there is not WsopC in town? Was in NO and the 2/5 was 1-2 games a nite, super deep and not good. I know u can match stacks here in NC but do the games play more like a 10/25 or a slightly deep 2/5? I have to think the latter due to the number of tables seemingly over every weekend. Some insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is this room worth playing 1/2 at still? Haven't been here since the pokertek tables. Deciding between here and national harbor. My costs will be somewhat lower here but if the action isn't worth it, I'd rather pay more to make more in dc, I'm inbetween them now in Tennessee.

If you have a choice and you are planning to only play 1/2, I'd go somewhere with less rake and better buy in structure. $7 max rake combined with a $200 cap is the worst structured 1/2 game in the country, I think.

Action can be good, but rake is high and a lot of people play shallow. They are planning on moving the room downstairs off the main floor and running promotions later this year, so it might be worth the trip then. Not sure how much they will rake for the promotion pot.

Thinking about heading to Cherokee next Wednesday for 2 nights. How are the 1/2 games during the middle of the week? Is it a waste of time? I live in Raleigh and have to go see a friend who's halfway to Cherokee so I figure it's a good time to go.

The 2/5 plays deeper than a normal 2/5 with being able to match biggest stack. Buy-ins are 200-1000. Not uncommon to have 2-3 players with 2-3k, and a few short stacks. Most players buy in for 500-1000.

The 1/2 going live has hurt the 2/5 games. I wouldn't play during the week, weekend games, of course, are better. With 1 or 2 games running it's usually bad. If you get 4+ tables you can find a good one. There are a few good regs, maybe 1 or 2 per table, a few bad regs 2-3 per table and the rest are droolers. I just look for the deepest stacked game and try to get a seat/table change to it.

The 5/5 PLO is great. But it plays super deep with matching the biggest stack. Not uncommon for everyone to have 5k min with stacks up to 15k.

1/2 PLO is starting to run a decent amount on the weekends, it's a 100-200 no matching.

They also have a $250 deepstack tourneyon Sat and Sun. 2/5 games get better after people start busting out of those.

Games are nothing like they are during the WsopC though. Still good but not like that.

I'm interested in this as well. Moving back downstairs would be great. There isn't any walk-thru traffic upstairs. How can they take more rake? lol What's it going to be 7+2. The 1/2 is already unplayable with 200 max and $7 rake.

Several dealers have said they are going to move downstairs, expand the room to 40 tables, and start promotions. I’ve heard different opinions on the timing and I’m not sure exactly where downstairs but the rumors seem legit.

Just went this past week to Cherokee for a few nights for the first time. I really enjoyed it. I was worried there wouldn't be enough action during the week but that wasn't the case. All the games I was in were pretty good. I'll definitely be back. Just wish they'd get sports betting. It looked like that was gonna happen but a dealer told me it was voted down.

Right, I am trying to find the actual tournaments playing each day. Choctaw events have been released, Cherokee has not. I am going to assume that the order of events is going to be similar, but Cherokee has an extra day.

I saw the event list while I was there. It's got to be online somewhere.
