How many of you going to be at Redsfest Tournament Saturday?

Have you played it before?

How is the structure?

structure is bad, and you get 3 rebuys and an addon....also they will skip levels if it runs too late. Kind of cool if you want a chance to play with current and former Reds and local celebs. Its nice to play once to say you did it, but nothing I would want to do again

I did it last year and busted Eric davis, but in my opinion te jersey isn't worth the $200+ spent on the tournament. I won't be doing it again this year

Like everyone has said, great fun, terrible structure! If you take the 3 re-buys and the add-on you'll of spent at least $350, for $400 you can play the $50k guarantee this Saturday right here at Horseshoe.

Sorry if this is the wrong spot but ill post anyways.

I'm looking to talk to some people in cinici who have been around the poker community ( and online community) for a while with a good rep online. I just want to ask a few poker related questions that I would prefer to do by PM. Please PM me if you are from cinci and wouldn't mind me asking a few questions. Thanks.

I am moving to the Beavercreek area in a few weeks to attend Wright State...I've heard Cinnci is the place to play...curious as to what you all think from a perspective of room quality, game selection and player quality?

Thanks!!

Not to discourage you from coming to Cincinnati because I think it's a great room but you need to check out Columbus as well...it will be about the same distance for you. If you are planning on playing 1/2 Cincinnati is a $200 max game where Cbus is a $300 max and they allow you to buy up to 100 % of the big stack. The games play much bigger in Columbus due to this and I would say the players in general at the 1/2 have a lot more gamble and you seem to find some more weak spots than in Cincinnati especially during the day.

If you want to play 2/5 or PLO Cincinnati is the only place to go.

Cincinnati is much better run and an overall better experience than Columbus in my opinion as well.

Thanks for the advice. I'm working with about 20 100bb buy ins at 200NL at the moment. So the smaller buy ins with less action are appealing. It sounds like Cbus might me a good place for me to go to take a shot from time to time. How us the action at Cinnci during the weekdays? Is it more grinders or old guys gambling away SS checks?

There are a lot of solid grinders in cincy during the week. The room has enough action overall that you usually can find a good game but most days it can be hard to find anyone truly giving it away.

I should follow my own advice more, but you need to run the action more to be profitable...build and steal, 3 bet in position. Most players are ABC and you should have a good read on them but you may have to make your own pots.

I lived here and played here from 2004-2012 and I never had heard of anyone playing for anyone. I have seen it in home games, but not at Lawrenceburg, Cincinnati, or Southern Indiana. Good luck tho.

I'm gonna be back over the holidays. I'd like to try and organize a 5-10 nl Friday and Saturday night December 20th and 21st. Anyone interested or know anyone interested? The buyin is 500-2500.

Hey guys, quick question. How many runners have the Thursday 6:30 PM $110 tournaments been getting and about what time have they been finishing up? Might play my first non-circuit daily there after work. Thanks.

They had 47 for the 6:30 on Tuesday, it's been running mid 30s to low 50s.

I agree - about the same with Thursdays. Average finish time is around 12:00-1:00 on the nights I made it to the final 3

Should also note that they skip levels near the end to help speed up the game.
