Also: I'm looking for somewhere comfy with reliable internet + wifi access that I can use to play the FTOPS main on sunday night - my internet at home is unreliable. Anyone got any suggestions?

Wi-fi at Empire. I've seen a few people playing on laptops whilst sitting at the table. Rare though. I usually use it for youtube on my iPhone.

Nightmare. I don't blame you though. PLO is such an awesome game. I'll be hitting the Empire in a big way tonight I think. Think I might go home to sleep for a couple of hours after work as I was there til 2.30 last night.

Yeah, northern accent is me. 23, medium height.

I play at the vic every fortnight. I'm a reg on the 1-2 tables. I'll be going tonight or tomorrow night... look out for the young chinese kid with headphones

Just some info at the Vic. I've never played higher than 1-2 so I can't comment there, but the 1-1 tables are generally quite nitty. Everyone limps. If someone raises even JJ/QQ becomes a set-mining hand.

1-2 you still get nits but also some more aggro people who will try to hero call in certain spots. It also helps if you are young student-looking... because for some reason they associate young = aggro = bluffy. So when you have the nuts, just overbet shove. EZ GAME.

I think winrates at 1-2 are definitely more profitable, so if you have the BR for it, def hit the 1-2 more than the 1-1. 1-1 has too many shortstackers which makes postflop play a bitch.

Christ. What started off as a cheeky visit to the empire to play some £1/£2 for a few hours turned into a 16 hour session til 2.30pm today and we changed to PLO at 6am! They de-restricted the max buyin and 3 guys pulled out £1k each. Mental. Brilliant game absolutely full of gamblers.

Nah I'm not that quiet unless in listening to my music (bose headphones cos I'm a pro player innit).

I like to talk at the table cos it makes the session more fun. Plus u find out info from players as an added bonus.

The game played like a 2/5 really. It was straddled nearly every hand and as mentioned, there were several 1k+ stacks. Preflop raises were 110% meaningless. If people wanted to see the flop, they wanted to see it.

One hand:
Straddled for 5, utg makes it 15. 6 callers. Straddle makes it 90. Six ****ing callers! Preflop. Omaha. 630 pot preflop 7 way.

4 people all in on flop. 8 hi flush wins on river.

Is there much action on the £1/2? Tempted to try the live scene a little bit, would be Friday to Sunday morning time wise.

Can someone who plays tell me the kind of rake I can expect, and the average level of play/style?

1/2 will be runnign every evening. Rake is 5% up to £15 per pot.
Therfe is a 1/3 too which has an half hourly charge of £6 per player but no rake from the pot.
