You also reward companies who aren't trying to scam you at every turn and are supposed to NOT reward the ones who are. You wanna bet who raises their rake first, this GCC property or CN?
3) Everything in that GCC casino is the bare minimum. The floor doesnt exist so its easy to collude and or cheat during hands cause they not only dont care but management doesnt know what poker is. The food, service, dealers, waitlist, literally every checkbox for a cardroom is as close to 1/10 as you can get.

Oh right, that's me, CEO of GCC. You got me.

Laughable. The casino is new but the players aren't. The core of regulars spent their time at Niagara and Toronto's underground games, Pokeraces, TPTS, Poker Place etc. I have been to all of those and to Niagara many times. I know who are regulars and who aren't.

Nobody is denying that the rake structure is lower at CN. We are looking at ALL COSTS associated with Niagara. Niagara travel time is approx 1.5 Hours each way. That is assuming good, smooth traffic around the GTA. On saturday afternoons or Saturday evenings there can easily be extra traffic, construction, accidents etc. So we could easily be talking of 4 hours of total commuting time to play at Niagara. That's also assuming NO list. My last visit to Niagara had no list but I've been there many times and had to wait.
So what does a really skilled poker player make? A great win rate is say 10 BB/hr. If playing 1-3, you are looking at 30 per hour, 2-5 is50 per hour. Opportunity cost of travel and waiting for 4 hours is 120-200 per day for 1/3 or 2/5 poker.
Factor in gas, add another 20 bucks. Add in depreciation from extra mileage. I'll be generous and say just .10 per KM and that's another 25 bucks. Ok, you can carpool but that often means waiting for another person and more lost time.
The session fee for 1/3 is 14 per hour.
Let's say the average session is 6 hours. So 120 in lost time, 20 in gas, 25 in depreciation and 84 in session fee. Total lost is about 250 dollars.
Even with poor rake of 10 percent up to 20, assume it's 250-300 per hour. 9 players per table. We are talking maybe 30 per person in rake and 30 X 6 is 180 dollars.
Therefore you are ahead playing at woodbine.

Youve never been right? The waitlist has improved a lot as there are now 12 tables of 1-3 and 12 tables of 2-5. Last time I went, I waited 30 minutes for a table. Not bad. I suspect the wait lists will shrink and they are expanding to a 50 table room. I expect wait time to continue to shrink. The dealers are improving over time. Still some bad ones but many are now competent. An area that will continue to improve. The food is ok, you get a dinner break and have access to the food court. Or just eat before you come. No free food like Playground but nowhere else is playground.

"soft" does not really define the poor level of play here on average. There are just a lot of terrible players. I already posted an example of a player who went all in with a straight ona 4 - flush board. The skill difference between here and NF is huge. NF still has it's core 2-5 regulars that live in and around the Niagara region. They arent moving to toronto. The extra rent costs would kill them. Toronto is the richest city in Canada by far with a never ending supply of heavy gamblers. The location of Toronto is just a huge advantage.
