Daily tournaments just started this month. And I believe there is a freeroll in July and you earn your seat with how much play you accumulate in June.

Does anyone know how the $110 buy in tournament did last night?

Is $110 the buy-in for the dailys? They don't appear to have any info on their site yet.

I was at Graton last night and it was hard to get a seat. Is it always so hectic? Seemed like none of the floor people knew what they were doing. Is there a way to "buy" a seat? Anyone I should talk to? I can't stand waiting for a seat

I've had similar experiences struggling to get a seat. Oftentimes a seat stays open quite long with a list and they seem to give people too long to respond, the exact opposite of the problem at Bay101. Im not sure if floors there like grease as much as old Rio floors but typically Indian casinos seem pretty grease free

Only on fri and sat nights is the place completely full. If you want to play then, you have to arrive in the late afternoon or be prepared for a long wait.

What would make Graton even better would be a drink/soup section in the back like the Peppermill in Reno has. If Graton wants to cater to folks who play long hours, I think this would be crucial.

This is a great idea. Graton Casino, please consider it. That, and filling in the open spaces on either side of the entry to the card room with plexiglass, and you'd block out half the ambient noise from the rest of the casino. Many people, including your employees, are exhausted by continuous loud noise over a period of hours.

So I have to say my second trip here was a little better. Although I had to deal with some crazy old lady in a suit that I guess was in charge at least I won. Aren't you supposed to wear makeup if you're over 50 and working in hospitality? Anyway she was hella rude and not helpful at all. I didn't wait too long but could have done without the rudeness from the floor.

Were the games at least good?

I've played the 1/3 and 2/5 and they seem to be pretty straight forward except the 2/5 plays big.

The games were good to me I haven't gotten to courage to play the 2/5 but 1/3 is big enough for me! Just wish they would fill seats more quickly. My table almost broke with like 20 people on the board. Seems kinda silly right? Anyway hopefully one day I'll have the bankroll to play with you guys at 2/5

does anyone know how the graton point/comp system works?

I think every 1000 points is only worth $1 in comps? If so, I'm only returned $1 in comps for every $1000 coin-in??? If so, that's kinda ridiculous?

Are there any promotions (e.g. 2x comps)? What are the benefits for hitting premier (I can't find any info on that either)?

their website barely answers ANYTHING!!

thanks!!

Shouldn't it be the same as any other Stations casino? I thought they were supposed to be fairly good.

2/5 PLO and it plays big, it seems that there will be a full table as the evening time approaches.

At the poker table, every hour is 1k points and every 1k points = $1 in food or gift shop purchases.

As far as "premier" member status, those are called "credits" or "player credits" iirc. You do not get credits in the same way that you get points.

With credits, you will earn more faster on slots.

A little update in answer to a few of the above questions;

IMHO, the games are better than ever, sometimes astonishingly good. For reasons I don't understand, all the games seem to play bigger than I usually expect. 2/5 PLO runs often, on the weekends they get 5/10 NLHE and last friday they had 10/25 NLHE. 1/3 and 2/5 NLHE often run around the clock, as does the insane 4/8 LHE with full kill.

They now have various promotions during the week as well as tournaments. They're on bravo, and you can call the poker room with any questions, 707-588-7388, they're very friendly. I have no affiliation with them except that I live nearby and I'm loving the NLHE

As for the comps, like somebody said, you get $1 per hour toward food. If you like mexican food, try La Fondita in the food court, it's very good.

I will admit Graton does have some cracking cash games. I sometimes go there after work and the action is there. I mostly play 2/5, but im sure 1/3 is good as well. I haven't tried their tournaments, but the structures don't look that good. This weekend Fri 9/26 and Sat 9/27 right down the road at The 101 Casino they are having an awesome tournament, their end-of-the-month $240 buy in Super Stack Tournament. 15k starting chips, amazing structure, $10k GTD 1st place, $22k GTD prize pool. Info is all here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1525953594289381

I'll be down there hope to see you too

I witnessed an amazing hand in the 2/5 NLHE game I was in this morning. Four players all-in, over 2k in the pot, everybody on a straight or flush draw. Everybody missed. Queen high wins the $1,200+ side pot, a pair of nines wins the $800+ main pot. What a game it was

Hey I'm a local here that was a reg at the 101 casino (Petaluma) and have been absolutely loving graton. All games play big. Big games lead to big action. Right now, it's Saturday oct 11th at 9:15 and there's 3 2/5 games and 4 1/3 games. Very likely the 5/10 game will start soon as there's already 5 on that list. The 1/3 games play as big as the 2/5 games in Petaluma played. The 2/5 game (I'm currently in) plays as big as the 3/5 game at aria in Vegas. Buy in is up to the biggest stack which is 3.5k so it's getting bigger and bigger and the night hasn't even started. I must say, not just because I'm local, I'd take the cash games here over any in the Bay Area including bay 101 and lucky chances. I think those rooms have more action on the off nights, but the weekends at graton are just as juicy. They have a regular 10-20 game as well, judging by the stacks, amount of tables and number of people on the list I'd say they will have all those games going by midnight. Anyway, just my opinion and observation, thought I'd share. If I was from out of town I would highly recommend coming up for a weekend sesh. Enough action to make it worth while.
I don't know much about their tourney lineup as I rarely play those anymore, but I have noticed that since the 101 casino in Petaluma obviously took a hit when graton opened, they have started spreading some really good tourneys. Very good actually. Small and big alike with satellites in between.

Great post on the action at Graton, and I'm glad the 101 seems to be surviving. They apparently have some regular PLO games that play pretty deep at the 101, and I agree on the tournaments, the structures are very good, especially the end of the month $240 tourney. It's even better than Lucky Chances 10k guarenteed 1st place because at LC, the rounds are 20 min all the way through. At the 101, they're 30 min until the final table then they go to 40 min rounds. I may be wrong but I think that's the best regular tournament in the SF bay area at that price. They've got a tournament director that knows tournaments and what the players want, and it shows.

But back to Graton, in addition to crazy good action, they continue to improve in so many ways. Now, if only they'd install a coffee station and put plexiglass in the wide open spaces on either side of the entry to cut down on the noise it would be the absolute bay area nuts.

Be careful when you ask to be put on the list for a game at different stakes or when you ask for a table change. When it is in their interest to do so they will conveniantly forget to put you on the board. I've seen it happen to others and it's happened too many times now to me to be an accident. I'm not getting paid to prop and this is a bad practice that I have never seen anywhere else.

A couple floorpeople here are verrry unfriendly and obviously relish their power a bit too much too.

....so how much did you lose?

Maybe they are busy and just genuinely forgot. A friendly reminder would probably do just fine.
