Does his place have a Monte Carlo board? Meaning, it is a progressive board for quads or better

Got a flier in the mail that the BBJ is over $100K. May have to check out the 1-3 and 2-5NL games this weekend. Anyone play there recently, are these games still playing soft?

Look on Bravo or call the room. That place is down 50% of the games they used to have and they're much tougher. That's what a $5 drop does.

Isn't $5 drop normal?

Yes, for the SF Bay Area and that's why poker is down 50% or more in the last ten years all around the bay. They've broke most of the weak players and it's nearly impossible to create new players when the house takes $5 out of a $6 pot in the smallest games.

Until the boom, a $3 drop was standard. When players flooded the card rooms, owners got greedy and almost doubled the price to play. Now the inevitable has happened.

Poker is down 50% compared to 2006? So instead of a 3 hour wait for a seat on Fridays in San Jose it used to be 6 hours? Or maybe 8 hours because there were fewer tables in 2006? Whether it's true or not (I doubt it's true) for the average player it doesn't matter.

$5 drop is pretty much standard all over California, except L.A. where it's $6.

I just got back from there, lots of promotions going on and the hotel is up. It's very nice and barely 2 months old.

The poker rooms has a ton of promotions. I left there just now on a Friday afternoon and there were already three tables of 1-3 NL and 1 table of 2-5 NL with a second one starting. The action there is perpetual.

Thunder valley now spreads NL 1/2 in addition to 1/3. Would or will graton follow suit?

Anyone with better info on Friday 10/25? I'm in bay for weekend and was considering driving up if it's not 100% reg/pro infested. Maybe PM with details if you don't feel like posting.

Every cardroom in the bay area is full of regs. Who else would be there? Tourists? It isn't Vegas - nobody travels to the bay area to play poker unless it's for the WPT in San Jose.

Why I said "reg/pro", anyways I'm headed there now and I'll just scout it myself.

Are they doing plexiglass? And how many people per table?

And most importantly, how's the action?

Glass is up and the tables looked like 6 max.
It was mid week when I went and only 2 games were going. I didn't get in any games while I was there.

4-8LHE had the biggest list.

Thanks. I live in SF and mobbed up there last Sunday for an all day sesh. 7 handed with plexiglass is what I saw but it was pretty rocky/reg infested

I'm considering an overnight trip to Graton to play some poker somewhere new. Is Graton worth it?

Its an a nice casino in an amazingly beautiful region with some of our best wineries anywhere.

If all you are going to do is play poker, and you live in the bay area, its probably not worth the bridge toll.

Yes, I live in San Jose and I'm looking for an overnight poker trip to somewhere else just for poker. The 2 hour drive for Graton was appealing.

Thanks for the info.
