Here's another one of Elgin's great rules: You can't sit at an empty poker table and wait for your poker seat.
About 18 months ago (one of the last times that I played in the room), myself and another player were on the wait list. We were sitting at an empty table. No players, no dealer, no chips. After a few minutes the floor walks up to us and says that we can't sit at the table. I explain to the floor person that I'm waiting for a seat in the poker game. Floor person says, "It doesn't matter, you can't sit here." The guy sitting next to me, then pulls the chair back
a few feet from the table. The floor person then says, "You guys have to wait for your seats outside of the poker room."
In retrospect, I should have immediately left the casino. However, since I had just driven 30 minutes to the casino to play poker, I ended up sitting in front
of a slot machine (I didn't put a single dollar in it), until I got my seat.
Edit: I was thinking about playing here this weekend, but I decided against it. Too many bad rules, too many bad dealers, and the high rake makes the games difficult to beat.
