Just checked their website, they've started taking hotel reservations for December 8th and beyond. Also says the poker room will be running 1/2, 1/3, 2/5 NLHE, and 4/8 LHE, with a $60 minimum/$200 max buy in for what I'm assuming is 1/2, 1/3.

Any word on how about big the poker room is supposed to be? I hope it's more than 7 tables because the wait at L'Auberge on weekends is just ridiculous (although the action is very juicy once you get in)

I'm hearing six tables and a $4 time rake every half hour. Should make weekend play a lot more accessible in the area.

One of the dealers tells me should be opened Monday at noon. No time rake. The 2/5 NL will have a max buyin of $500 or equal to the big stack. They will not have Bravo.

Friend of mine who also works there tells me the same about the opening date. Can't wait to check it out. Disappointing that they'll only have 6 tables, but oh well.

Not surprised that they don't have Bravo, as the one in Vegas doesn't have it either.

Anyone try out the poker room? It should have opened up yesterday at noon.

Went there yesterday and played 2/5. The game consisted of most of the regulars from L'auberge. 10 handed wasn't very comfortable. Not using any computerized system made it slow for them to fill open seats. The room is extremely loud from nearby slots and music blaring on the floor. I believe they will put up some sort of partition soon. As that has been #1 complaint. They have free wifi. Look forward to going back when things quiet down.

It crippled the games at Lauberge during the week. It's a 10 minute walk between casinos or they got a shuttle that constantly goes back and forth.

Good to hear about hurting Lauberge. Hope some of those cocky floor men who think they own the place are on the unemployment line soon. In particular the Stuart Scott clone. Act like they are door men at an exclusive club or something.

That's the vibe I get from that entire casino. I'm happy the GN is there to give them some competition.

I went this Saturday and played 1/3. Overall, my 1/3 table was very soft and stacks were fairly shallow. Half the table had 100-150 in chips, a quarter had less than 100, and the last quarter had more than 150.

The 2/5 game looked pretty deep when I glanced at 2 of their tables with ~3-4 people at each table sitting with 1-1.5k.

Noise level was a little loud in the immediate area cause of the slot machines but I was still able to hear people betting/talking at my table.

I played from 11pm-3am and there was about an hour to 90 min wait. Try calling ahead of time if you want to play here during peak hours.

The way the floor handles open seats at tables isn't really efficient quite yet but i'm sure it'll get better in the coming weeks. Friendly floor/dealers /waitstaff

Adding in a few more details I thought of. They were dropping for a bbj which was at 37k last saturday.

max buy-in (at 1/3nl) was 300 or half the largest stack

Hello camz, and thank you for reaching out!
So I'll share what I know...
Golden nugget lake Charles has six tables, but unlike lauberge du lac, it deals lo8. I'm staying with my family at lauberge - golden nugget was booked solid!
I can't get to Baton Rouge, much as I'd like to. We're in from Chicago and driving from Houston for the the day/night. But I'm wondering if your game in Baton Rouge might be willing to import to lake Charles to welcome an out of town guest? I'd take care of arranging the table with the poker room manager of course 😄

I'd love to play some LO8. Not sure if I could make it on Sunday but post on here if the game runs and I'll try to make it.

Harper, (and others)

What limit do you wish to play? I play 10-20 and 15-30 at home, but would play a lower limit for the sake of consensus

Personally, I wouldn't mind playing anything up to 10-20 but I have a family Christmas party tomorrow during the day so unless the game runs late, I probably won't make it.

A friend of mine is in town and may want to play. I'll let him know it might run.

Just put in interest lists for 5-10 and 10-20 (and 15-30). I'm coming back after dinner. Manager is going to text me if he gets nibbles.

I've been wanting to but with a wife and 3 kids, it's tough to make the drive out there on a weeknight.
