I will be down in AC last weekend in March, Friday early evening - Sunday morning. If I stopped by the Nugget Saturday afternoon, what should I expect to see in the way of 1/2NL action?

I swung by last night to see what the action was like and they had 2 tables running. This was around 10pm, so prime time on a Friday and only 2 tables.....the room looks really nice but the smoke is definitely still a problem

How annoying do you guys think, is the whole construction that they are doing over there? Do you think you can stay there and get a reasonable amount of good sleep?

I tried to search different forums, bud couldnt get a good answer. Would actually like to stay there for Borgata Spring Open.

Definately you can sleep I was there for last weekend and I did not hear any construction noise. The only issue which I noticed was if your neighbours are listening to loud TV or music you can hear that and even if they are shouting you can clearly hear that.

I liked the room.

That wall is now down. $10k gtd tourney on Saturdays is easily the best value in the entire city.

do they have exhaust fans now sucking the smoke out?

i was told that when the bar was finished near the poker room that the smoke smell would get better

also, what is the Saturday tourney averaging now? i would guess less than 100, but i have not been back since the first Grand Opening tourney because of the smoke and the WSOP Circuit at Caesars

When I got home there was only a hint of smoke smell but I did walk through the casino a lot during breaks so I don't know.

They've been averaging about 60 players I'd say, missing the guarantee and payin ghe top 9 players with about $3,200 to the winner. Soft play with an overlay and pretty good structure, hard to pass up.

So I heard from someone GN buffet is better than Harrahs or Borg...can anyone confirm? Have a hard time believing this...

their buffet is good, problem is you need black card to get into their chairman club buffet, and keeping your black card there as a poker player is impossible...

Lee or anyone here try the GoldNugget Saturday tournament?

It is a nice starting stack and it is a GTD tourny. How is the turnout for the same?

I haven't tried it. Haven't been back there at all in fact, since that first visit months ago.

Lee/CSFurious/*******,

Did you folks play the Sat'day GTD Tourny at the Nugget?

What are your thoughts?

i only played there back in February on the first Saturday it was offered where i bubbled at 18, i have not been back because of the smoke, but have heard that it is averaging 75 to 100 runners & the 10,000 gtd payout is still being offered

the smoke might be gone so i am definitely going to check it out in the next couple of weeks, but i might check out WPT regional at Parx which has great cash games

but, i will defintely grind this tourney over the summer when i usually go to A.C. more because of the season

Anyone been there lately? I am going there this weekend, any action going on Saturday or Sunday during the day?

I was there this past Saturday and walked by at 7:30 PM. All they had were two tables of 1-2, and they were not full tables.

I was there for 10 am $2012 gtd tourney tues. They had 26-28 players. The floor really sold people on the value of the tourney. Cash game started as tourney winded down. The room is great, lounge area is perfect for hanging out. The complimentary food was loved by all. Sometimes the smallest things mean the most. The whole staff really wanted the players to enjoy themselves. Only issue was the temperature, but I'm sure it had something to do with the newly renovated area. Until fixed bring a jacket. still had a great time and a friend cashed. Hope they do well.

Does the 4 am tourney run regularly like every day? And how many runner does the 2000$ guarantee average, I know that team ramrod said 28 players on a Tuesday about a month ago but I was just wondering if that's the normal average every day?

Have the games at the Golden Nugget picked up at all? I was there last week and it was probably the softest 1/2 games I've ever played in. Every night there were players with $600+ stacks just looking to donate their money. Staff seemed super friendly, and the $3 / hr comps were ridiculously good. Would love to see this room take off, though I guess location is not ideal.

been here in ac 5 days now and still not gotten over there, i guess mainly cause i dont want to be standing outside waiting on the jitney at night. Not sure how safe that is. what are they doing as far as rooms for players? (these are primarily needed on weekends, what good is a free place to live during the week if u still have no place to live on weekends?) any casino in ac could fill up all their rooms by renting them out to poker players at $200 a week, and letting them stay months at a time. also i fear the game might not still be running. ive never really understood at all why NO golden nugget properties nationwide are willing to join bravo poker live, and neither is the Taj.

they have a great tourny structure in vegas, extra long and slow blind levels, but i really cant handle the greatly accelerated variance of tournys so i just play cash. if i did have a much higher bankroll and wanted to try a few tourneys, id play theirs.

the jitney is safe @ all the (marina) casino stops GN, Harrrah's, n Borg at night, it is not so safe on Pacific Ave (boardwalk casinos) @ night, if the situation does not feel safe on Pacific Ave at night, it probably isn't safe, - there are poker rooms comping players rooms in AC, GN isn't one of them...
