Makes sense . . . Thanks

Interesting how the fine print says they can cancel or alter the event at their discretion. So if they get 50 runners and aren't anywhere near the guarantee they can just pull the plug? or change the blind structure mid-stream?

On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if every tournament has this in the fine print as a CYA

In the email they said they wouldn't cancel even if only two players showed up....its probably there for legal reasons. I'll be there tommorow and will report how everything goes!

Going for the morning 10k mtt tomorrow morning.

Hopefully there will be a bunch of 1/2 NLHE games running. Is there usually a bunch running on a Saturday?

About 40 runners so far. 2 cons so far, walk to sign up for players card is long and confusing, lack of signs. Second, registrations is by hand, so line to register is taking ages. Add-on is done at tournament registrations as well.

189 players - $25,000 prize pool.
Great structure for the expected 40-50 players, not so great for 189. Final table will probably be after midnight. 10th place pays less than double the buying (with add on). Great if you finish top 3 or 4, but I'm kinda glad I busted out early and made some money playing cash.

Thanks for the update. Glad I decided to grind a session at Borgata based on the tournament information. To play all day and barely make money on a min cash sounds like a waste of a day.

Why was the structure no good?

How was the addon? Good? bad?

Structure was great. It just lasted longer than some players like due to the number of players. Best structure in all of AC, better than Borgata's and Showboat's.

I was told there weren't any cash games because they needed the tables for the tournaments.

great structure, great tourney

structure lets you be more patient than the typical A.C. tourney that turns into a shovefest by the 4th hour, e.g., you are dealt way more premium hands if you are patient

flops were seen in this tourney until around the 1,000 ante, 8,000-16,000 blind level which was around 10:30pm, then if you were shorter-stacked you had to start shoving in the 2,000 ante, 10,000-20,000 blind level

i went out right on the bubble at 11:30pm

a few too many players & horrible ventilation system that makes the whole casino floor including the poker room smell like smoke, but i will definitely be back the first weekend of March for another one of these tourneys

i would be curious if anyone knows what time the noon tourney ended

i am going to guess 2:00am because there were some big chip stacks left that might have not wanted to chop it at the final table when i busted in 20 place

Furious, what time did you bust?

oops, sorry I didn't read your previous post. I agree the smoke is horrendous. Supposedly they're knocking down that wall outside the room on Wednesday where the sports bar is going to be, and adding huge fans to suck up the smoke.

Don't you think the structure is a little too long, at least for that many players in a relatively small buy-in? I know that a 4-5 hour tournament is a lot about luck, but going 11 hours and not cashing is tough, and the payouts really aren't even worth much until the first 4 or 5 places.

As far as cash games, they did use all the table for the tourney, but started playing cash as soon as enough busted out to get a 1-2 going. I busted out early due to a bonehead play I made, so I played cash from about 2:30pm to about 7:00pm. There were two 1-2 tables, a short handed 2-4 limit, and they had lists to start a couple of Omaha game - don't know if they got off the ground or not. I'm going down again today to play cash - It was lucrative yesterday with a lot of bad players who busted early playing cash and drinking heavily - hoping the same happens today.

BTW, the room is nice, the chips are clean and you can even read the denominations, they fed everybody a number of times, the waitress service was pretty good. Other than the smoke smell, a good experience

I didn't really notice the smoke all that much, only at certain times, but when I left I was really displeased, because I wreaked of smoke (not sure how much of that was just from walking through the slots to get to Poker Room).

Anyone know how many spots were paid and what 1st place was. I heard rumors that it was 8k. I would hope that 1st wasn't 33% of the prize pool.

It was over 8k for first. 8.2 or 8.3k I believe
