is there any possibility that they cancel the $10,000 guarantee if only 50 show up? i am talking about fine print in the tourney regs or some Casino Control Commission exception

you guys are starting to talk me into going to the Nugget on Saturday lol

Worth the shot for me.

I doubt they would cancel it because how bad on their part would it look by canceling their first ever guaranteed tournament. Bad for business especially if your trying to start one up.

Worse case you just drive over to Borgata and try for BBJ like everyone else.

Anyone know what the blinds/antes will start out at?

What's the deal with the "optional" $40 add-on? Does that go into the prize pool or is that like one of those "dealer/staff appreciation fees" that have been the subject of so much controversy over the past few weeks?

Is it a 100+60 with a possible overlay (10k prize pool guaranteed)?
Or a 140+20 with a possible overlay (10k prize pool guaranteed)?

I was planning to spend the weekend at the Borgata but this looks interesting....

Does anyone really buy in deep on weekends or is it a typical 1/2 table ~100bb average?

Also, anyone know if their 24k comp card can be used in Vegas also?

TIA
I have only played there twice (over NYE weekend) and no one bought in for more than $300 or so.

The 24K Club cards are separate from the Vegas ones. According to the woman at the club card booth they will be combined eventually.

This is a good question and would definitely weigh in on a decision to play or not. I'm assuming someone would need to go to the poker room to ask, unless anyone wants to call?

There is an email address at the bottom of the PDF I guess you could email. 100% going btw Saturday.

GN would have a much better turnout if someone from the Poker Room would post the structure they are using. A lot of players will not want to risk a poor structure when they can hit up other casinos for their dailys or head to Delaware Park for their deepstack weekend.

Not sure how this has not been posted already by the staff considering this is supposed to their kickoff weekend/grand opening. If they are not getting with the times in this age of social media, their room will have very little chance for profitability. I would love to have a viable alternative to the usual tournament locations, but with no information on structure, it's not going to happen.

I emailed requesting details for blind structure, details for the add-ons (dealer add on vs. going to prize pool), min number of runners for it to take place, etc.

I will post if/when I hear a reply.

Almighty, please post a TR and updates if you can when you arrive.

Thanks

How long would most of you assume this tourney would run? Might take a shot playing my first live tourney if it's a small field and I can leave AC By 9:30PM for work.

Depends on how many runners....but considering the amount of chips - longer than most. The blind structure would give everyone a better idea as well.

if 100 to 120 people show up, it will probably not end until after 9:00pm to 10:00pm with 30 minute levels in my experience

it could possibly go to after midnight if no chop happens

that time frame depends on the structure, but their flyer states "great structure" so i feel confident with my guess/estimate

Here is the response to email:

I am flying in now, so I don't have the structure e-file at the moment but I called and told them to put on the website asap. I will also forward to you in the morning. These are great structures, every body will be happy. As for the other good questions:1. All add-on money goes to prize pool.2. No min players, if its heads up then we still guarantee the money..no matter what. GN's rep is rock solid and always will be.Thanks again and I hope we see you there

Sounds promising. Ill be sure to post the structure when he forwards

those are very good structures, i.e., look @ 75-100 & 2500-5000, most "deepstacks" skip those blind levels

that is an extra hour of play on Saturday with the chance to accumulate more chips

Good job Jay!

I assume we will all need to get a GN card prior to registering for the tournament. If so, give yourself plenty of time to do both.

Looks like a great structure! I'm gonna see the turnout and might head down one of the next 4 weekends to play in it

Anyone know how the "add on" typically works? I know it has to be done during initial 3 levels. Can you "add on" after you bust? I think this can make a big strategic difference. I played a MTT in vegas last summer where the casino pretty much forced you to take your add-on up front (although, you did not HAVE TO). I got in a tough spot where I folded a pocket pair againt a shove from a maniac. Had I not already added on (and was able to add on after a bust), I would have called in the spot . . .

Any one know?

DCSeawolf,

I think the point here is you can take the add-on as long as you are alive in the tournament (in the first three levels). If you bust, the add-on is not applicable anymore. If you still want to play the tourny should allow re-buy.
