Collects a promotional rake while at that very time not offering any promotion.

It’s simply not true because they all have a bad beat jackpot that is 24/7. And go back to
My example if they are to collect a promotion rake every hand regardless, why don’t they in a short handed game when the game is too short handed to be promotion eligible?

Hi All - Have some time to kill this sunday coming up in the afternoon before going to Borgata. Is this room worth playing at? Promos seem nice but on Bravo there is usually 0-1 tables. The 3 hours for free buffet seems pretty sweet,

They have great promos but not worth it IMO. If you are looking for NL or PLO action the Borgata is much better the play at Nugget is very nitty compared to Borgata. I used to try to play the Wed OE but it's basically a private game and the floor will take care of the regs. So back to PARX for me.

The buffet was pretty gross imo. I tried it two times last September. Good luck.

agree going over to play 1-3 or whatever is most likely a waste of time. i dont suggest the buffet.

disagree with the o.e. game private comment. unless you mean trying to start game. the list outside is pretty stupid from nugget perspective but its also fair and ive had no issue as a non reg getting into game.

once door is open on Wednesday ive seen 0 to think its its anything but normal.

It isn't. I know the players and their relationship with the room. I have seen countless episodes of not having anybody on bravo waiting to the game being started to regulars who didn't start the second game just jump the must move list to get to the main game cause it was full. Also the regulars who are allowed to all get up 3 at a time and stay away from the table for longer than an hour with no third man walking or getting picked up thus screwing who is playing. It's a private game or for semantics you can say they cater to the regs but it is what it is. It's ok it's not worth it since I live much closer to Parx and they run the game for all much fairer than GN. I can't see the room at GN lasting long term.

Alright this thread has a reason to resurface cause the Ocean apparently has determined poker to be belly up and the best comparable comps and cash back in town is the Nugget,
still with a tier multiplier and cash back for hours played free parking, I'm sure the Ocean clan will find a home at the Nugget

GN is a nice room staffed by people that treat you well and the promotions, comps, cash back aren't bad either.
When Ocean closes poker players could do a lot worse than to migrate over to the Golden Nugget.

Going down to The Nugget for Christmas to play some tournaments, how is the turnout for the tournaments on the weekdays?

I don’t know if you were being literal when you wrote that you are going for Christmas. If you are then you should call to see if the poker room will be open.

I'm pretty sure the nugget poker room is dark Christmas eve and Christmas day.

In the shadow of the Big house (the Borg) the nuggets last Saturday of the month had nearly 160 runners @ 12:15 to shoot first prize over 7 Gees. when the Borgata runs its events all poker rocks in A.C.

Do the Golden Nugget weekday morning tourneys usually run?

I'm eyeing up the Monday bounty one at 11:15 AM on President's Day.

In my experience they do. I would think on President's Day it would definitely run since a lot of people have off.

when A.C gets the green light for turning cards what is your opinion for a double elimination heads up tourney like they ran in the Delaware series. 9 tables, 18 to 24 players at a 120 buy in, the prize pool could hit 2 gees maybe more with some reentries . Easy to do with social distance, something to think of to get the tourneys cooking .The Nugget did run great torments'

I was in AC last week, I stopped over at GN on Tuesday just to take a look around. The place was dead, they had 1 baccarat game open but no players, 1 roulette table open but no players and 2 black Jack games open that both had 1 player at each. None of the carnival games were open. With that being said I can’t imagine the property has any interest to reopen the room anytime soon, I know poker and the casino are separate but IMO if they can’t get people into the place, doesn’t make sense

Not sure why you'd be excited to play games in a room where 99% of the NL players are strictly there for the $7.50/hr or whatever it was on the only day they could get more than 1 nl game running

Plus the room is tiny with closed glass doors. It's like a COVID incubator. I don't see them opening it again. I wouldn't be surprised if Fertilla had to sell this soon. He particularly over exposed in many sectors where COVID has hit hard. Food/restaurants, casinos, and sports teams
