What's going on?
Because they dont have a million rooms like the other properties. Low supply, high demand. They seem to sell out every weekend

I find it hard to believe that anyone is paying those prices.
It's double what Borgata charges!

Comped usually but everything has a price. Go cash out and walk pass the baccarat pit. Some serious loot on the table. Still agree its a crazy price

I just called the poker room to ask about something else but mentioned the email and I was told that the email was misleading.

Apparently the poker room will remain open. The email was only concerning their online poker room.

If I'm able to get out of work this evening, I'll be playing the tournament this evening. If you see a scary looking long haired dude, come over and say hi.

Got the same email today, NYCNative even though I never bothered playing after registering.

It is a bit strange to read. It obviously leaves us wondering "WTF happened?", and the answer might well tie in to the other online AC sites.

Just got that email that they said would clarify things:

Quote:
Dear Brian,

We would like to apologize for any confusion caused by an earlier email sent to inform you of the impending shutdown of GoldenNuggetPoker.net freeplay poker website. We would like to take this opportunity to clarify that Golden Nugget will no longer be offering our freeplay online poker through GoldenNuggetPoker.net website, as of the September 30 deadline.

Poker throughout Golden Nugget land based locations are very much active and will continue to provide you with the best poker room action.. Again, we apologize for any confusion that the original email might have caused, and we thank you for your continued
support and patronage.

Best regards,

How is the typical Tuesday/Wednesdays games here? Anything besides 1/2 in terms of NLHE or PLO?

Heard the games here are pretty soft and will be in town for a day so trying out some other rooms before going to the Borgota for the tourney I'm planning on playing in.

The room being dark is booming? You sure you're talking about the one in Atlantic City?

Being dark? I dont understand that statement. As in shut down? I walked by it yesterday. I wouldn't call it booming either but it was open.

I think that Rapini is a little confused here. The on-line room closed. The brick and mortar room is still open.

When TheTheoryOfDue said that the room is "booming," I went on Bravo to see what games were running. There were a whopping zero games running. My confusion comes from TheTheoryOfDue's comment that the room is "booming" while the room was dark.

For anyone who doesn't know, dark in the context of poker rooms means zero games running.

I think TheTheoryOfDue actually meant the LV location. Purely guessing based on his location on his profile.

And that's exactly why I asked him that in my initial response.

Gotcha. Dark makes sense in that context. I assumed it meant closed. Anything in the Marina is going to suffer with Borgata being a stone's throw away. Not from lack of staff trying but that room is on life support for sure.

I thought the same thing at first re: his location, but he posts in AC and PA threads. That's one hell of a poker commute, I thought my 2 hours was bad.
