Right, model the poker room after another failed poker room.

LOL

Saw an odd incident/floor ruling just now...dealer flops 4 cards by accident. He may or May not have even burned a card prior. Not sure. So the 4 card flop is Q456 with 2 diamonds. Floor guy comes over washes the 4 cards face down, then randomly chooses 3 cards to be the flop. It is now 456 2 diamonds. QJdd guy is livid. AQo guy is livid as well. QJdd bets and AQo guy mucks and curses out floor guy.

So my question is.. What is the proper ruling in this situation?

they are entitled to make up their own rules. the problem is that there is no rule book available to the public and every dealer, floor, and shift manager has a different idea depending on what card room they came from. I played there a lot last summer and every week the manager would change his mind as to what the rules were to get the high hand promotions (without so much as the courtesy to give oral or written notice to the customers,) - I would not put a lot of money on the table in a casino with no rule book. Though this week I went there and the dealer gave my $90 in chips for a $100 bill.

I think that the whole hand referenced by YouFold2Me should have been declared dead because you do not know if the flopped Q should have been a burn card

anyway, I will continue to play my cash game online in NJ

This is what I figured.. And what I was arguing even though I wasn't in the hand. I've seen some brutal decisions made by a certain floor man. IMO the other floor personnel have been pretty good.

Which floor was it? The old Ballys guy? I've seen him Butcher stuff before. Not a shock. Overall good experience but I've had some issues there as well with rulings.

RROP

“If the cards are prematurely flopped before the betting is complete, or if the flop contains too many cards, the boardcards are mixed with the remainder of the deck. The burncard remains on the table. After shuffling, the dealer cuts the deck and deals a new flop without burning a card.”

so, I guess that the floorman was half-way right lol

although the burn card mystery is not addressed by that rule

Just returned from a weekend trip to the nugget. Lot of poker action for me. 6 cash games going last night. Dealers are getting better and the tournaments are swelling. I asked the room manager about some improvements such as hand sanitizers on the wall, bounty tournaments, getting the music level lowered in the lobby and he was great. Hand sanitation machines will be installed asap he said, improving the tournament schedule is on the horizon, and all other suggestions he wants to hear. I'll tell you what I think I've found my new home as have a lot of other players. Great job GN. Keep it up.

GN used to be one of my favorite rooms. I mainly play low stake tournaments and some WSOP circuit events. Was happy to see they re-opened it

What is the usual turnout for the Saturday and Sunday guaranteed 12 noon tournaments. Do they have overlays usually?

I am guessing this long weekends turnout would have been better than usual. Anyone know what the turnout was this weekend (15th and 16th - Saturday and Sunday) for the 12 noon tournaments

Its tough to get to AC by 12 noon for me since I will have to take the 9 am bus from NYC! (9 am! for poker players is like 3 am for others!).

I feel your pain. That's why I'm lobbying for a new comp: "play 10 hours and get a free weekend room."

Any word?

Were you the guy on the button who knocked out the short stacked Asian kid with J5s when they condensed three tables into two?

The name of the dealer was Jaime and it was on one of the two remaining tables. The asian kid had on a Black Mets cap with a grey hooded zip up sweats.

Maybe you were on the other table. This guy in seat 10 of Table 4 who was the big blind in the hand called the All-In and another caller and checked down the hand with J5s, he flopped the 5 and the Asian kid had king high and the guy in seat 10 kind of slow rolled him. Once the river hit and it was checked around, the Asian kid in seat 6 flipped over KT and announced "I have a King" for king high, guy in seat 8 mucks and the guy in seat 10 slow rolls him by flipping over J5s after waiting for seat 8 to muck. Guy in seat 10 was in his 50's with a salt and pepper beard and was wearing a baseball cap. Wasn't sure if that was you or not. Did the female dealer who was playing tight as a rock make the final table? I played with her on Table 5 and she did not see one flop in three hours!

I have been reading your posts on here for awhile about the GN and Showboat rooms. Does everyone play this tight in all of the tournaments? The last two I played in at GN and Showboat, everyone was playing like a rock.

Coming up on Wednesday's in March, They will have No-Qualifier for the High Hand at $100/hr. In addition, there will be a multiplier by how many cash games are running. up to 5x. So if there are 3 cash games going, the high hand will be worth $300. NO QUALIFIER. So your measly full house can take down the high hand of the hour. Of course, $20 in pot, goes to showdown rules still apply. Wednesdays have been dead at the GN, so maybe this will bring in some cash players. Hopefully.
The rest of the week, will be the same as is it now, $500/hr, quads or better to qualify, $20 in pot, goes to showdown, give your first born, etc.

A lot of players that go to borgata and Harrahs for their tournament series haven't played at GN yet. Why haven't they had a "grand series Ac" yet? Follow the Vegas schedule but make it 2 weeks long, $300 buy ins and higher

What table were you at and what seat number were you in when they condensed to two tables on Sunday?
