Yes, it is true. They do the same in Las Vegas. But very few people ever buy in for more than $300 or so.

I will likely be there for a few nights (Wed - Fri). If anyone wants to meet for a drink with an old guy and talk poker, let me know. I hear the new bar near the poker room is pretty nice. Plus at Vic & Anthony's you can get $1 oysters for happy hour!

I don't like the set up at nugget at all....poker room is ok but I really liked the old layout of the marina better......I always thought trump castle/Marina was a sleeping giant

Has anyone played the Saturday guarantee recently? I'm going Saturday and I was wondering how many players they've been getting.

As to the post above, the Saturday last week got 66 (I believe). Still took until 10:00pm or so to hit the final table.... I played the Sunday (yesterday) which drew 44. Seems like the numbers are shrinking, which is ashame, because the room is beautiful and the tournaments are fantastic

as long they keep the guarantee, the Saturday tourney is a great deal

however, i would assume that the player base is pretty inbred with regulars and i like to play where i am not recognized that often so i will only go there every few months

it was much easier to get lost in the crowd when the Saturday tourney was drawing well over 150 to even 190 runners for a few months earlier this year

Played the weekday tournament this Wednesday, was $80 with the fees, we got 24 players, the guarantee was $2012, so it was not too bad but got knocked out at 11....not sure if I would come back or not.

Played here today in the tourny and then cash. First time in the room, liked it a lot...they just didn't have the players for steady cash games. Tourny was great structure... I'd give it another whirl on another Saturday.

Btw...nice to see no remnants of Trump Marina left. They did a nice job with renovating the property

Played the $10,000 guarantee on this past Saturday. I think the structure of this daily tournament is one of the best in AC, and only 60 players entered to fall short of the guarantee, adding to the value.

But, the dealers are too inexperienced and sloppy to make it worthwhile. One dealer said it was her first day there, another said it was her first time dealing in a tournament with antes(?!). Of course, there were mistakes being made and numerous delays to get the action right.

The final error (for me) may have cost me money. The 10th player was eliminated (paid 9), creating a one big blind scenario. I was short (47k with blinds now up to 6k-12k) and in the hijack, and the big blind was the only one shorter than me (33k). Hand plys out, and for the next hand the button was accidently moved to the short stack, skipping his small blind. Of course, I don't notice it until after action has started, and call the floor over for them only to tell me that since 3 people had acted, there was nothing they could do. The dealer first apologizes, and then tells me that I should have said something earlier, which sets me off. THAT'S NOT MY ****IN' JOB!

Two hands later, he accidently exposes my second card (seven), gives me a six for a pair, I push, get called by a big stack with 7-3 off, and hits a three on the flop and a three on the turn to eliminate me in 9th.

The luck is what it is, but as good as the structure is, I can't take the dealers there anymore.

Hey guys!

Sorry first time posting here. I am going to one of the early buy-in's for $80 for the $2,013 guaranteed prize pool s. I just want to know has anyone ever done this before? How was the experience and so forth. Is the payout structure worth it?

Thanks guys.

Did you enter? How was it? I was thinking of trying instead of Showboat.

Pros - Better structure, nicer room, often free (good) food, sometimes a small overlay.

Cons - Much smaller/tougher fields, almost never a cash game.

Trying to find some information about this room since I will be staying here this weekend.
Is it just 1-2 NL
How many tables
Regs vs. non-regs
Anything else that would be helpful
Thanks

they have a good Saturday tourney at noon, look on their website for details

the tourney will be "reg-infested"

you are going to have to go somewhere else for cash IMO, you will be right next to the Borgata so that is where i would play

Thanks for the feedback
I take it the regs don't stick around to play cash
I probably wouldn't be able to get there before 3:00
Do drunks fish play late at on Saturday night? I hope so.
