Going to Atlantic City from NYC--planning trip for a lot of people

I'm going from NYC with ~20 people to Atlantic City. We're going to go on a friday and leave the next day. I'm planning the trip but have basically no idea bc i haven't been to AC in years.
I want to know:
1) Which hotel is the best?
2) Suggestions on transportation? I'd like to do a Hummer limousine on the way there, and on the way back I have no idea. Is there a bus that is not gross that leaves from a hotel? I think some people will want to leave earlier than others, but I don't want to end the trip at a bus station.
