I look forward to joining the game. It's a "with kids" weekend for me, but I'll sneak out eventually.

I'd be willing to play a 15/30 game, bankroll permitting that is. What's the standard BI for that game? Is it $300-400 or more like $600?

Standard buy-in for the majority of the players is one rack or $500.

Standard buy-in for me who has needs to have a lot of chips in front of him is $1000.

I would not even sit at this game unless you had $1500. You are better off in the 8-16 game if you have less.

On the surface, this sounds intriguing. That said, I'd be interested in knowing more about why you think this.

Any game in between those? You don't really ever hear of 10/20 games unless they're NL.

I generally play online, and it's been a long time since a live game. I'm jones'in

I play the 8-16 on a regular basis.. Its a better game (most of the time) then the 15-30. My easy rule of thumb is that, If I cant go play with atleast 3 racks in my BR then I cant afford to play the game (8-16 = $600 & 15-30 = $1500).

several times I have came back from -$400 to have a nice win by the end of a session in the 8-16 game at Gila River. The action is fast and the donkeys are plenty but you need the BR to overcome the bad beats and stay in the game.

I've seen 9/18 games where they use $3 chips...but if you pressed me on where and when, I'd fold like a house of cards.

I do wish there were more games available >4/8 and <15/30, but that just doesn't seem to be the way the poker world works.

So you'll sit with $600 at that game? 3 whole racks to start seems a little excessive. I would have assumed a rack to a rack & a half would be completely sufficient. Unless you're loose as all hell, raising and reraising every pot. But, I'm a big nit, so I'd say $250-300 would be a good start.

I think the wife is going shopping this weekend for my Sister's baby shower, I may be making an appearance! weeeeeeeeee! lol

Most players in this game will cap pre flop with A-10 or better JUICY!!

Not sit with that much, you just need to have that amount of money on you to play with. I usually only buy 1 rack and add more chips if I need to.

You have not played in this game, right? a cap pre flop and on the flop are very common. You can get a big hand cracked and loose $100 in 1 hand very easy.

I am heading up there with a buddy within the next hour or so. Most likely will be drinking so will probably play $4/$8 vs $8/$16.

KidKash, if I hit the big or second end of the jackpot I'll promise to dump a rack or two in the $8/$16 Omaha game if it's running.

Back Home.

Played $4/$8. Bought in for $200 due to match your stack promotion up to $200. Cashed out for $141. Down $59 for session.......

Good times, Drank 5+ beers.

Place was pretty much packed. There was a list for $15/$30 that they called a couple times, but never went while I was there. Had $8/$16 Hold'em and Omaha, and $2/$250 going whole time I was there.

Prob that I've always found w/ this is that the game will only attract the players you 'don't' want to play against. I'll be there in appx 1 hour and if that game gets called I'll at least take a look.

I have high hopes for this new room - the excitement level is the highest I have seen in any AZ room in years. Everynight we have had ppl joining our Omaha game that were completely new to it..

ok, I have talked to several ppl and tonight we'll be starting an $8/16 O.E. (Omaha Stud 8) We will be lobbying to make this a NO KILL game - as this has been the biggest complaint from players. We have a far better chance of getting better action players without the kill!!

As usuall, Greg and I will start the game heads-up - Everytime we sit and play the table gets 3-4 other players within 5 mins If you build it they will come!!

I thought the pencil system was bad for a crowd that large, even though the floor man was chipper and hardworking about it.

I get tilted when I see what I consider to be what is just plain stupid. They've got a much busier room than they had, their new electronic system isn't working yet, they used a single person w/ a pencil and sheets of paper before, so, naturally, they used a single person w/ a pencil now w/ apparently no thought to putting a floor person or off duty dealer up there to help seat all the new, paying customers.

Howard is mad as hell, and he's not going to take it anymore.

Me? Meh. I played one night, and it's wasn't too busy, and the problem that night was too many games going when there SHOULD have been a board -- games kept breaking and combining... ...instead of having a short feeder list.

I walked by a 2-250 game that had a lot of money on it. It looked like the limit could actually factor in if two of the deep players really went at it.
