I actually think they're doing a pretty good job at accommodating such a suddenly unexpected large influx of players. There have been glitches to be sure, but they seem to be doing their best to iron them out so far.
As I was leaving last night at 10pm, I saw a dealer who dealt my table at 10:30am STILL dealing. Made me feel downright lazy
Yes, they are used to getting 15-20 tables during peak times in the past. Now they are getting 25 tables almost every evening and for 12+ hours on weekend days.
Getting the dealers is one thing, but then they are also short in other areas that players will complain about like service, floor support, and board personnel not used to those kinds of crowds and lists around the clock, along with a much wider variety of game types to fill. I need to tip the board next time I am in there.
The other thing they aren't used to is some of the bigger games and some of the different characters. They don't know how to handle them and put them in their place, so certain players will take advantage of that and be ultra nasty to these dealers. These dealers might be a bit intimidated dealing in a 20/40 or bigger game when the past 6 months they rarely got an 8/16 game going. It is up for the players in that situation to try to handle it so it doesn't get out of hand unfortunately.
I was thinking yesterday that they should move 10 tables from VQ and set them up in the casino right outside the poker room if it is true that CAZ may be MIA for another 2+ months.
