I'm going to visit relatives in Vero Beach in December and was thinking of checking out the Ft Pierce room. What can any of you tell me about that room? Any input about atmosphere, amenities, range of games offered, quality of play, etc. appreciated. I couldn't find it in the venue section so I posted here.

Let me try. Its been two years since I've caddied on the Treasure Coast, so my info is that dated. But...I really liked the room- bright, open, pretty good dealers for Florida. They have some decent tournaments on weekends, particularly the once a month jobs with larger buy-ins. check website. Some of the larger ones easily got 150+ players due to promo entries, making the tournament play jucier.
Cash games should abound, with some low limit and NL in varying buy-ins.
Food was sketchy- my major knock on the place.
Lets face it- the alternative is a 90 minute drive to West Palm Beach, and I'm sure some people do that. But I think the room is pretty good given the fact they are the only game in town. Give it a shot.

How many 1-2 tables do they get during the week/ weekend?
How about 2-5?

Thanks

Drive the 45=50 minutes on down to Palm Beach Kennel Club. Better selection of games, a lot of spewy shot takers, bad tourist play in the winter.

Jai Alai reg: they're usually 2-3 1/2 NLH games in the evening; 1 5/10 NLH; 1 1/2 LH; and 1 2/4 LH games during the week. Great dealers for the most part. Players come from Palm beach to Melbourne. They are starting a Sat. Bounty tourney this month. I'm heading there today after work!

I completely agree...take some extra time and just drive to Palm Beach....
Low stakes NL and Low stakes LHE is soo fishy.

What games/limits are you looking for?

You'll like it. The 5/10 game is good, but 1/2 can get a good player $ too.

Daytona, Melbourne or Tampa Hard Rock, or even St Pete would be closer if you are in Orlando then going to W Palm. FWIW

Thanks for the feedback guys. Ft Pierce is only 15 minutes from my mother's house so I was thinking of going there for half a day or so. Don't really know if I'll want to take the time to drive elsewhere. 1/2 or 2/5 would be fine. So i take it the atmosphere's ok, and there should be a game to get into if i go?

Atmosphere is fine and there will be plenty of games you can get into. Especially if you're coming in Dec, the snowbirds will be thick by then.

I live 10 min away and play there semi-reg (every deepstack, occasional 2-5,5-10).

Pretty fishy overall. Not a fan of the room itself but the tourneys are super soft. Won the Labor Day tourney they ran for about 3.5k and have a few deep cashes/wins in some of the Saturday tourneys.

Overall, decent room. Always a seat at 1-2...2-5/5-10 running most of the time, usually only one table.

Which tournament is the best one to go to in this room? The last bounty tourney this month was a two table sit and go. Very disappointing! I like want to play a better one at the Jai Alai, if there are any suggestions?

I did the rebuy tourney once and it was a good tourney. It comes out to about 90 if you add-on the 3 allowable blinds. The Sunday and Wednesday ones are supposed to be good, but I wasn't sure.

Just played there for a couple hours on a 1/2 nl (max buy-in $200) as I needed a short break from the long drive back to Orlando from South Florida where I was doing a training class. Some thoughts on the action:

1) Weak at best, very soft with multiple calling stations. 3 betting seldom seen at the table I sat, so sometimes I had to do that to create some action pre-flop with either middle pairs or suited face cards.

2) Dealers seem to know what they're doing without much distraction. I especially like the fact that they know some of the regs on a first name or nickname basis. Thumbs down though for no auto shuffler and weak felt on the tables

3) Room was almost dead on a late Wed afternoon/evening with only (2) 1/2 nl tables and (1) 2/5 nl table and a PLO table as well. However there are plenty of TVs around as well as a full-service bar right next to the card room. You can also order food tableside while you play.

Overall I came out $55 profit after a quick 2-hour sesh. Really only played effective hands like marginal pocket pairs, (un)suited connectors and face cards. Wasn't really too bad considering the type of action faced at the table but I'd be interested to try that place again on a weekend whenever I make my next trip down to S. Florida (could be a decent pitstop point).

I played this Saturday here, they had a $500 High hand promo going with about 10 tables or so going. Mostly 1/2 with I think 1 2/5 and 1 or 2 2/4 limit games going. Everyone at my table was a reg- none played very well. Poker room was in a upstairs area, sign up was a little out of order. I was in the area to attend a funeral, had a descent time playing with all the retired folks at 1/2- easy money!

Hey All

Thinking of checking this place as I just moved close in Port St Lucie. Is this the closest room and how is the 2/5 action and what is max buy in?

Thanks

I am driving the I-95 and I-4 corridor a lot these days and getting to stop at a number of rooms. I have played there twice in the past month - late nights. The play in ok, dealers are good but the building and room is an absolute pit. Should be condemned type "pit". The confines don't bother me but it really is a waste of a license. Someone should buy it and move it closer to Orlando. Just look what Orange City is doing!!!

Update on the room. The room is pretty disgusting but they are currently working on a renovation. They finally replaced the carpets. They refelted the tables. They are working on a new bar. They also have new chips. If you have the old chips they become worthless in september. The dealers are awful and they are having serious turnover issues. The poker manager is very good, its the boss above him that is worthless. I hope things can improve because I live in Port Saint Lucie and its basically my only option.

Edit: the room is soft just like any other poker room in south florida. The elevator is a deathtrap, but you can still use the stairs.

Hey, your views on that room are pretty much 100% mine - I play there because its close and the play tends to skew soft.. that's about it. The dealers are absolutely atrocious - they've lost a lot of their good staff, unfortunately

so I've never been to this place, but all of the sudden my local room (Club52) started to have these new dealers pop up. They seemed experience and after getting to chat with them, they said the worked at Ft. Pierce and had to get the hell out of there. Complained about management and what not.

The new dealers seem decent enough, so I guess that's where the 'legit' dealers from Ft. Pierce ended up.
