I will oblige. Got in line at about 8:15 and there were only at most 30 people ahead of me. Got right on a 1/2 table. Overall I was impressed with the operation. No seat changes or table changes, and the floors did enforce that. Rule for walkers is 1st man gets 15 minutes, 2nd man gets 10. (Dinner break is the same as before: 2 hours and you get put 2nd on the list if there is one.) There were a few instances where we were playing 4-handed, and while no one was in their comfort zone doing so (myself included), at least no one refused to play 4-handed, and before long the table filled back up.

I haven't played at Mohegan since COVID, but the other players were saying that the plexiglass partition unit is much better than what they have over there. They were custom-built at Foxwoods from what I was told, and they consist of a solid plastic frame that encases the plexiglass and is bolted to the table.

I kinda suck at taking pictures incognito, wanted to get at least the border of the plexiglass, without getting anyone's faces (and please excuse the incidental brag). As you can see, there's quite a bit of room below the glass immediately in front of the players, plenty of room to gather your cards, put your bets out, drag pots, etc. One thing to watch out for is it can be difficult to make out the stack sizes of players across the table from you, which makes dirty stacks easier to miss. In fact, at one point, I believe a player across the table attempted to angle me. He put out a bet of $25, and had behind what looked like a stack of about 15 whites. I asked the dealer what he had behind, and she said there was a black chip on the bottom and made him keep it separate from his stack.

Seemed to be all returning dealers but I believe at least one of the floors was new. Dealing was top-notch, no mistakes I can remember, and the game moved quickly. After anyone left for good, one of the floors would come by to wipe down the seat, rail, and glass before the next player sat down. Actually it may not be an exaggeration that the poker room was probably the safest place in all of Foxwoods.

no seat changes is a terrible rule a lot of people really hate. for example. a lot of people prefer to always sit in the 2 or 7 seat when playing 8 handed. if u are stuck in seat 1 or 8, u cannot see nothing around the table, and they force u to stay there where u cant see and be uncomfortable for hours and cant move? totally unfair.

Freewill gave a great report.
FWIW here is mine.
arrived around 530pm.
tried calling in to get on the list on the way down.
for now no phone in reservations you must be there live.
i was second on the list for 1/2.
seated around 10 minutes later.
pleasantly surprised at how quickly i was seated.
the attention to safety and cleanliness is amazing.
the plexiglass the seat and the rail all meticulously cleaned before you are seated.
all the Dealers that dealt while i was there were Foxwoods vets.
my table was on the tight side.
but the pace was fast and overall a great few hours of poker .
looking forward to returning

PS 15 minute rule.
if you leave you seat for more that 15 minutes you are picked up.
not so strictly enforced at our table however the dealers did remind anyone leaving their seat of the new rule

Saw this on YouTube this morning. Someone posted a video of the poker room from yesterday.

It seems silly that they’re not using tables throughout the room to create more space between people. All of the tables in use seem to be near each other.

I don’t know if it matters much, but it can’t hurt. Just a strange choice IMO.

Yeah it isn't ideal, but I understand why the rule is in place. Every time a player gets up, before another player can sit there, they need to wipe down the seat, rail, and glass. Allowing seat changes would just compound the work, with practically no upside for them. But if you get there when they open, you may be able to get your preferred seat (I was given a choice, and I chose 3). And if you're on a list and get called, and they direct you to that dreaded 1 or 7 seat (7-handed, not 8), I would think you could ask them to give it to the next person on the list, and continue to wait. Seat 1 isn't so bad anyway when it's 7-handed. It's more like, Seat 1.5.

I had that thought as well, but I guess they figured it'd be too much running around, and dealers getting tapped out of their downs would take longer. There's plenty of space between the tables anyway, it's not like your chair is back to back with someone from a table over, like when it was down below.

Some people are 30. Some people are not 30.

I think that about sums it up.

Just found out that Foxwoods will once again extend your card status until Sept.30.

Tier levels will probably reset come April 1st.

Seems right since Mohegan just announced it a few days ago!

Was anyone there this past weekend? How deep did the 1/2 list get?

Can't speak for the weekend but weekdays 1-2 and 2-5 NLH have definitely been stronger at the Sun.

Saturday mid-afternoon (because i forgot to do dinner re-seating0 i was 24th on the list.
was told it reached over 30 but moved fairly fast.
i am so pleased poker is back.
now we just need sports betting and the Govenors edict limiting to 13 tables to be expanded.

By "stronger" do you mean tougher games, or better games? Thanks!

Not tougher lineups, but more games and longer waiting lists. Pre Covid it was slightly the opposite with Foxwoods having longer lists and more games most days.

Checking bravo now and then it seems mohegan has more players and tables running during weekdays then foxwoods most of the time. And more players on waiting list.
Is the rake or comps the reason?
Any other reasons?
I start playing next week at one or both.

Many people IMO have vastly underestimated the damage done to Foxwoods by Mohegan getting a 3 month headstart on poker reopening. I believe many former loyal Foxwoods patrons who maybe visited the Sun only occasionally have begun playing there regularly since the new year and earning 2nd and 3rd tier players cards and the perks that go with that (lounges with edible food, nicer hotel rooms with pools that are open, etc.). Foxwoods is also suffering the effects of the pandemic having caused many restaurants and stores at their property to be closed or vacant. Couple this with the fact that there aren't any promotions or tournaments going on and there isn't much reason for these defectors to migrate back. Just my 2 cents...

I play in some home games with A LOT of former FW regulars. If they are going to play in a casino, they are going to Mohegan. The top reasons include being able to see the table better at Mohegan and the lack of dining options at Foxwoods.

Personally, I didn't have that hard of a time seeing the table at Foxwoods, but I haven't been to Mohegan so I can't compare the two. Regarding the food, the two closest options remotely near the poker room is Subway and Regina's...and the line is always out long.

I know of a couple of guys who started playing at Mohegan to start earning rooms, etc when Foxwoods cut them off. There is definitely an interesting dynamic going on as the two rooms are starting to get their footing.

How does the point earning structure vary between Foxwoods and Mohegan? I know with Foxwoods it’s 6.8 tier per hour and I need 400 points in 6 months to at least get a gold and get rooms during the week.
