The world just had its highest single day of positive cases today. I’m guessing cramping a bunch of vulnerable people in a card room isn’t going to end up just fine.

No surprise Lamont wants to meet and discuss this with both casino reps.

the more people you test the more sick you will find. do you really believe there are only 1.6 million confirmed cases of this crap in the world. this is why they dont want everyone tested. cuz then you will see like 100 million cases of this junk and the death rate will pale in comparison to number. its what makes for news nowadays and that is horrible but you goota take the good with the bad

I fear this might be what they mean by not marketing to MA/NY. Those outside of CT/RI might not be receiving any offers for a while.

There is more testing due to a mini-second wave beginning in some places and not simply more testing of those without symptoms. Parts of China are shutting down again and in America there are no available ICU rooms in parts of Alabama. If we are reckless now what the heck is this fall going to look like when the second wave does hit? In 1917, the wave in the fall was 5x the initial shock of that previous spring. There are those who feel that this virus has disappeared too. Lookout.

Be interesting to see if the poker rooms that do open up increase rake because
of added costs.
Or more short handed tables 5 handed instead of 10 handed would mean more rake too.

New normal = higher rake?
Just asking not much else to do.

A couple of my friends in TG said they were told it might be no smoking for a little while because of the masks. I guess a few of the union stewards were telling some of their members. They weren’t sure if it was gonna be a casino wide thing or just while they play at the tables.

Would be great if they made the non-smoking rule permanent

Just an FYI....

The website is updated in case anyone wants to take a look.

I wonder how long before we will see perks (Points/slot play). My guess is that it will be MONTHS before anyone gets a comped room.

I have points and gifts showing for June. Much lower than what I had for March and April though. I thought they were going to carry those months over?

Masks required at all times while playing. So no beverages? And it states Spin Bar (Halo Bar) will be open. How will that work if you need to wear a mask the whole time?

I say we sit across the room from eachother and have a model train running that you put your chips and cards on as it goes by.

I don't care what your skill level is, that game is not beatable. The casual players won't play it, and the rake needed would more than cancel out anyone's edge.

And this is before we even discuss the hygiene with the chips...

Imo it's online only till there's a vaccine. I just hope we can still recognize the live game if/when things return to normal.
Too bad we don't have anyone to organize a movement to legalize live poker home games.

Home poker games are already legal in most jurisdictions. You just cannot charge in any way, so no rake or entrance fees. In a lot of places you cannot even "pass the hat" for pizza and beer or tip an unpaid dealer. But as long as nobody is taking any money, there aren't many places you can't have a friendly game.
