Obviously I don't think there was any cheating, but 90 tables (and it was more like 80 tables for the first couple hours) at 40 hph (and that is generous) is 43,200 hands. I would think only one or so would show up - not seven. Can anyone figure out the odds for that?

At Mohegan Sun a couple years ago during a 3-hour HH window there were FOUR K-high straight flushes on a random Monday night with 9 tables open in the entire room. They chopped it 4-ways.

I'm guessing if JDPuopolo were there his head may have exploded.

Right, essentially what you're trying to prove that it's "almost impossible"...

Please explain variance to me! I like stories 😬

Are there any restrictions about the HH, such as # of hole cards used? If I get bored today I might try to calculate it.

So in theory if a Royal showed on the board all 10 players get it?

Untrue, both of your hole cards have to play, they just don’t have to be paired to make quads and highest kicker. So there can’t be any split straight flushes.

Heading from Boston to NYC this weekend with a planned all-night pit-stop at Foxwoods Friday night.

Getting to Foxwoods from Boston is easy for me but the Foxwoods - New York on Saturday leg is not familiar for me. Curious if there are some Chinatown/Bus tour type options available or if I'm stuck with Greyhound? They weren't super helpful when I called their bus bay

Thanks for any help.

dingusmcphee is 100% right. I played during the Madness back in April and I had the old A2 and ended up with quad aces, but obviously the duey didn't play. It would've held up too if it was a made hand!!!!!

I will use quad 8s as an example
HH both cards must be used so A8
board 888KK
HH both cards play quad 8s with ace kicker good hand
bad beat
no good if villain has KK both 8s must be in hand
so high hand but no BB

Which also means it is possible to lose the hand but win high hand, if you have 88 on a board of 88KKK and villain has Kx.

Sure you're gonna win the high hand with someone just got higher hand with higher Quads?

Sure let's give the $1000 high hand to 8888A and not the KKKK8

Fish it's been stated that you need use both hole cards for HH. So a hand like K2 wouldn't qualify.

You HAVE to use BOTH hole cards to make the 5 card hand. So you can use one of your hole cards to complete quads IF you are also using your other hole card as the best kicker.

In fairness to fish, he's been in Vegas for awhile now, the desert air must be getting to him.

I've never used one, but yes there are buses to NYC from FW. There's info on Foxwoods.com.

I have confirmed through bitter experience as well. T6o in the BB and turned the Royal in a limped pot during the HH promo. I ended up with around $22 from the pot and a chip set.

Does the Atrium have video poker machines at the bar? I can't recall. I'm looking for a FW bar to watch the Sunday Night Football game tomorrow night with sound and would love to play some video poker while watching.

I think Halo has video poker, but I don't think I'd be able to hear the game in there. Also, we're staying in the Fox Tower so how about the bars over there?
