Just heard from a dealer that Foxwoods is considering dealer add-ons for the daily tournaments.

Hope it doesn't happen.

Sorry...what's a dealer add-on?

Basically a predetermined tip paid by everyone that enters.

I'm going Monday and I need the answer to one crucial question: did they remove/destroy the chair or is there a 1 in 1000 chance I'll be sitting in it?!

Anyone?

I work for a major company here in CT and someone **** themselves right in the aisle. The cleaning crew refused to clean it up so the fire department (We have our own fire and security.) had to clean it up for bio hazard reasons. I'm sure the chair was destroyed at the least.

If you pay $100 for 20,000 chips, they'll give you the option to buy another 5,000 chips for $10 that goes straight to the dealers. The numbers may change but the basic idea is that the dealer chips cost significantly less than your initial buyin.

Thanks for that chick-

I read a post about the issue I had a question about here;
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27.../#post51376058

But specific to Foxwoods, I’m wondering if anyone knows if they have a chip cleaning schedule. Or something.

You are against tipping dealers?

Never ceases to amaze me. I chopped a tourney recently in Vegas and 5 of us got 800 Plus. Two gave under 20, two gave 20. It was disgusting. I gave 40 because the dealers and floor were very good. I usually would give 30 in that situation but the cheapness is staggering. You want live dealers to deal your events they have to make a living.

I just placed in a tournament in AC also, and tipped because the dealers were good....At Foxwoods most of the tourney dealers are good (IMO, from what I can remember).......can't believe someone would bitch about dealers making money ....WHY? Keep the 5 or 10 dollars and don't buy the Add-On...In AC the 3% Extra Juice (Tourney Fee) goes right to the dealers, and they also do a dealer add-on. At Foxwoods that's not so (I remember asking that question, however it was 3 years ago)... I'm sure they are attempting to make the dealers more money. Good for them !!! I was a dealer in Vegas / AC back in the day ...not a fun job if your not making any money.

People get upset about dealer add-ons for 2 reasons:

1) It socializes the tips. Normally only people who cash would tip, but now everyone has to, so it makes the up-front cost higher (especially as a % in the low buy-in tournaments), resulting in you losing more if you don't cash. Most people don't like that.

2) You're also pretty much forced to do it, because it's very -EV if you don't given most others are doing it.

Also folks, we have a tipping containment thread. Please do not get into discussions here about why you should/shouldn't tip, how much is sufficient, what dealers deserve, etc. Do it in that thread. Thanks.

I had no idea the dealers at FW are unionized. I've never heard about any dealers on 2+2 or in person talking about a union:

Quick question about what you guys are talking about-
I found a few tourney results here;
https://www.foxwoods.com/pokerpage.aspx
but was wondering how/if there is more detailed or more up to date info for Foxwoods tournaments.
Thanks!

Sweet - thanks.
I've been out to Foxwoods before but never played a tournament anywhere. I figure a $60 one won't kill me...

FYI I just check the monthly flyer and looks like FW is doing something new in Feb called WINTER DEEP FREEZE POKER 15th - 20th. I assume it won't be the same as the big50 but don't know for sure. Anybody have a details? At least it won't collide with Borgata's Winter Poker Open, but probably will with Parx's Big Stax.

Utter speculation but doubtful that it's going to be a rerun of the big 50 - holiday weekend so guessing at least one two-day event with a decent guarantee, but, like I said, speculation.

No strike clause, don't think they can. Their last contract was still written under tribal laws which is ridiculous

Just need to gripe a bit here. I remember the below quote quite well and Dan Carpenter can replace Dan Marino in Ace Ventura for all I care (die from gonorrhea and rot in hell).

does anyone have an approximate number of entries per week?

im 12 for 13 (with my only loss the detroit game, grrrrrrr 58 yarder) and have Seattle tonight, with a 54 point tie breaker.

has one wrong been pulling it off or has it usually been multiple people with perfect picks?

I'm 13 for 14 this week, 48 point tie breaker (over by 7), with my one loss....

Kansas City vs Tennessee

yet another game expiring, over 50 yard field goal, from a ~50% 50+ yard success kicker. gaaaahhhhhhhhhhh

Hold one time FW, one damn time
