This buffet talk is pretty idiotic. Yes you got sick from the buffet. No it wasn't a cleanliness issue. It was the fact that you had four different desserts and eight types of meat and a bunch of other junk.

I never said I got sick, I said I saw some nasty woman tonguing a serving spoon, does that wet your appetite?

This is a whole other topic.

I'm not a buffet fan at all, but the food on the only cruise I've been on was way worse than the few buffets I've been to.

I've never been to Foxwoods buffet. Did they move it? I can picture it in my head from years ago but I'm having a hard time visualizing where it is now.

What's the word on that nl stud 8 game? Has that ever run again?

Went to craftsteak last weekend for the first time. I can't say I would return. Im more of a traditionalist. I like new wave music, not new wave steakhouses.
Aside from that gripe I just thought the bone in sirloin was a pretty poor piece of meat. Service was good, apps were fine, drinks were decent. Can't remember what the desert was but I know it was meh. Overall a very mediocre experience for me. My gf got the salmon and said it was fine but she speaks less favorably about the whole meal.

I like The Veranda when I need an omelet at 4 in the afternoon. Sometimes, the service is slow, but it's nice and quiet and the food is good.

Buffets creep me out anyway. Then again, I'm not an all-you-can-eat kind of guy, so the whole deal of stuffing your face until you can't move is lost on me.

I dot mind the buffet for breakfast. Fresh fruit and omelette made to order is a pretty safe choice.

I would never go again for dinner though. It is basically hospital/cafeteria quality food...that has been sitting out all day.

very excited for the MTTs and cash games this week. just got into CT for four nights. staying in mystic tonight and then at great cedar starting tomorrow.

my opinion for breakfast juniors at MGM. wake up, get blunted, talk a nice stroll and then hit the tables.

Personally I think buffets are nasty but if I'm in vegas I'll do the Bellagio or the Wynn one maybe once if that. That festival buffet joint at the woods though, nah, you couldn't pay me to eat there, like ever.

Yup, the $5 burger on Thur/Fri lunch is really good. The Short Rib Stroganoff is fantastic on the current menu.

4pm. It's also offered on Saturdays til 4, not just Thu/Fri.

Mind you, that's just for a plain burger. Once you add cheese, bacon, fries, it's like $13. Plus drinks. Still a good meal though.

I need help guys. Got a room booked for tommorow, but I really do not want to make the drive down. I am not going to stay the night for sure, so at best I am going to play during the day get the room, and immediately drop it in express checkout, just so I am not charged the 100 dollars.

Are there any other options? Can I give the room to a friend or something? Any suggestions to avoid me driving down on a day I do not want to go down?

You can try calling and rescheduling to a night beyond the 48 hour window. Then either go online or call back and cancel the new reservation. I have successfully done this on one occasion. Good luck.

What I would do is:

(1) Call and tell them you really can't make it, but want to reschedule and see if they're willing to let the 48 hr rule slide.

if not;

(2) you can give it to a friend, but you're going to have to go to the casino at some point to check in, otherwise you're friend is going to end up paying the rate for that night.

Saw a ruling in the tournament curious on everyone's thoughts:

Player A: all in for 11,750
Player B: all in for 15,500
Player C: all in for 25,000

Player A and B chop the pot. Some how the dealer didnt pull in Player B's portion into the pot and they pushed the wrong amount to player B.

A few hands later the floor comes over and takes 6,500 from player B and gives it to player A. I objected because we already played a few hands. It ruins the integrity of the game. Would love to hear people's thoughts on this.

Something like that happened to me before, where I was the shorted party. I didn't realize until 3 hands later. I never called the floor or raised a stink about it because I knew that ultimately I was responsible for making sure I had received the proper amount at that time.

So, I agree with you. It's too late to fix things.

So I ended up cashing in the $600 event last night and can I just say it felt so good to have competent dealers in the box in comparison to the fiasco that was the dealer situation at the DSPT at Mohegan Sun. A few things from playing yesterday:

1. Level 1 or 2 there was a hand between myself and another player where the board was 8489A and I bet turn and river hard with 69 vs opponent's J9 and he tank called. Both hands were turned face up, my hand goes in the muck and dealer pushes him the pot. No one said a word and I was a bit confused and informed the dealer that the pot was to be chopped. Thankfully after a minute or so of conversing everyone agreed and the dealer didn't realize there was a pair on board. Floor came over and verified this was the case and recreated the pot and pushed me my turn and river bet back. Better than losing the whole pot but I suppose it was my fault for not saying something immediately after both hands were tabled.

2. Dinner break I decided to check out the new BK since it seemed the lines were really long at all the major restaurants within the casino. Can I just say that experience was a NIGHTMARE. The service was atrocious. It seemed they were catering to the drive thru and it took me a good 30 minutes from the time I placed my order to actually get my food. I literally ordered fries and a small soda. Anyone else have a similar experience?

3. We're in the money and I jam otb with A7ss vs the blinds and a CO limp. After the blinds fold it gets back around to this gentlemen who then asks the dealer for a count. He hesitates and genuinely looks like he's about to make a fold, then tank calls and turns over AA. WTF? I felt so slowrolled I immediately stood up and berated the player and he made some comment like "I play with kids like you in the school yard." WTH? The whole table saw it happen and I was really disgusted that someone would do that this late in the tournament. To make it worse he ended up taking first place and his mug is right there on foxwoodspoker.com.

I wasn't able to play any cash over the weekend and as I am more inclined to play $2-$5 at Mohegan, I wanted to ask if there has been more action and general traffic in these games now that $2-$5 is part of the BBJ. Any updates would be appreciated.

Thanks!

damn, i checked out the AA guy and I played with him in February megastack. Guy is such a nit, also tank called top set on the turn at my table and went on to complain about he thought the guy might have a straight. Only problem was there wasn't a straight on board, let alone a straight draw! So i feel for ya. If I run into him over the next few days I will needle him for you haha

Maybe a little. From watching Bravo, I think there may have been a (very) slight shift in the ratio of 1/2 and 2/5 games toward 2/5. But the games look and feel pretty much the same to me based on a few days' play. I'd be curious to hear others' impressions on this.
One thing to note is that some of the dealers aren't used to dropping the $1 BBJ rake at $100 (they're used to the 1/2 $20), and are auto-dropping it at much lower pots. At the risk of seeming ultra-nitty, you might want to keep an eye on this.
