Dont you think that it is a common argument?
I hear that at $1/$2 all of the time. It is a defense mechanism so that they can feel like they are much better players than they actually are.
"I am playing at $4/$8 because these players are tough. It's not that I cannot afford to/am not good enough to play higher"

The Cedars was a bad steak house 10 years ago. Go to Craftsteak if you want a real steak or drive the hour to Ruth Chris's near Hartford.

Went to Foxwoods last week and had a free room. We came late and the guy said they were out of smoking rooms and upgraded us to the biggest sweet they had! It was just below the villas for a comarison. Unfortuanetly my luck ran out at the tables. I got it in good with AA on the flop and top pair called (109o) and hit trips on the river. He freakin called 20 bucks preflop OOP. After he won the hand he was all happy saying 'give me a chip and a chair and i'm dangerous'...I didn't show the aces but i think most of the table could tell I would have won. Anyways guess I have to start winning and stop whining. On a side note, I probably won't go back to Mohegan anytime soon.

Woods has stopped seating new players. Supposedly they're trying to get some or all games down to a single table - not sure at what point during the storm they'll begin re-seating. Currently 9 tables going (total in the room). Currently all restaurants are closed and hotels remain fully booced as they have been all day. I expect Lord of the Flies scenario to tace hold among remaining players at any time. Godspeed.

Hell, it was bad last Friday and Saturday night with just a couple of inches of snow once you left the reservation. Don't want to think about what it would be like now. The state obviously doesn't have the plows to keep it passable.

Rt 2 at 9am was awful. It rained for about 15 min so it made it pretty bad.

I got to talking to another player at the table about the differences in play from 4/8 to 10/20. My opinion was that 8 out of 10 players are the same quality on average and a couple might be noticeably better, while he insisted they are worse than 4/8 players but just have the money to blow.
LOL, the 10/20 players are not worse than 4/8 crew, but the game is easily beatable with a tag game. You win money in that game by stealing more than your share of pots from the weak tights.

Any updates regarding the roads around the casino and the state of the poker room (tables going, cage open, etc)? Looking for something post 12pmish on Wednesday the 11th.

burke and morton's are equal in quality in my opinion, burke's portions being bigger. The one time I went to Mortons I was with a 20-25 person party and we did not get the meat and vegetable speech thank god.

ughhhhhhhh i was planning on going down yesterday (tuesday) and my friend backed out at the last minute. how are the nl games today? was thinking if it cleared up i would head later if 5/10nl or higher was running.

understand if you'd rather not talk about it but any stories from that game? there hasn't been a 10/25 game in the last handful of times that i've gone so it must have been a great game. not sure how old you are but are you friends with anyone from simsbury who go to keene state? i know a good amount of ppl from there.

The 10/25 was formed by a 5/10 NL game gone crazy--the people stuck in that crazy game formed the 10/25 in game.

I was in that prior 5/10 game, and it was probably the best game I have ever been in.

I got here just before noon and Rt 2 was fine. Just keep it at 25 or 30 or so and you will be fine.

ditto, came down around 1pm, 95 was down to the pavement, rt 2 was snowy but i got down no problem. The dealers however....... they're saying the evening crew should be come in full as the roads are better, but as of 2pm there were maybe 5 games going with huge lists and no dealers. The 40-80 was going strong though.... Anyway, i'm down till Sunday and i'm going to put a mixed game on the list each day. I'm down for anything 8-16 to 20-40, any mix. PLEASE do not start a 5-10 HORSE list as that will cause my head to explode.

Hopefully can get an upgrade over my Two Trees room tonight, I declare shenanigans that they're sold out. Come say hi at 1/2 if you see me, will have a Justice League softball jersey on (#11). Ok, and if you want good karma, don't checkraise bluff a deaf kid like Chunkamunk has done!
