Foxwoods doesn't do satellites into events at Atlantic City. They only do satellites into their own events held at Foxwoods.

Oh hey that's pretty cool! I hadn't heard about that yet, and I'm pretty sure they've never done it before.

I'd actually play in one of those, but sadly I'm busy both the 4th and the 11th. Damn!

I think its part of the WPT improvements. I heard they want to have satellites for the next stop on the tour. It makes a lot of sense for the WPT. If you are playing the WPT foxwoods in Nov and bust out, they should have a satellite for the next stop. They would get players and profit from it. And its good for the players as they can lock up a seat before investing in travel.

Gotta be the work of senior savage. Brilliant move

That's a smart idea, but the Foxwoods WPT event is in November, and they are running satellites in September for a September Borgata event, so they don't quite have it right.

I think this is a special case because AC is relatively close and easy to reach by car. I think its a good idea to have a satty for Borgata now. Of course, the NY/NJ tournament player pool already frequents foxwoods and borgata. But there are probably a good deal of players from CT/MA/etc that do not regularly frequent Borgata but might take a shot at the satty. Its GREAT for east coast tournament grinders and for their own self interest, for Borgata, Foxwoods, Mohegan to align their tournament schedules and to also help keep the player pool strong.

During the actual WPT event at Foxwoods, the WPT tournament grinders benefit from having sattys to the next stop on the tour.

Also, since Borgata ME is only 3500, its a relatively cheap satty that doesn't need steps.

Last edited by donk007; 08-26-2010 at 12:42 PM. Reason: cheap satty

Tuff to get a good rate anywhere the week before Labor Day.

If you're willing to stay off property, try AmericInn in Griswold, about 10 miles. It's around $99, rooms are big, nice pool and breakfast included (waffles but no pancakes).

There're also the motels right off exit 90 of I-95 in Mystic (Hampton Inn, Days Inn, etc). Mid-week you could get $40-50. It's a 10-15 min drive taking the backroad (Lantern Hill Rd). It's where I stay when I can't get decent rates at FW.

lol I got that mailer too. Don't forget to make your "reservation" for it lmao.

I really want to know what happened to my room offers. In the spring I was getting two comped rooms a week. Nothing for the summer and so far nothing for the fall.

They gave me Two Trees next week for 59/night on wednesday and thursday which is obv better than Bellissimo but still. I am going to approach a floor guy in the poker room this week. Only one I kind of know is Spencer who is super cool but I haven't seen him the last few times I been there.

I do play some pits like blackjack and spanish 21 and get rated.

DMB you got any tips for me?

This is what I usually do, mixed results. I've had some pretty decent rooms for those rates, and then I've had some god awful rooms.

If someone reading this is down at the woods right now, can you tell me if the bad beat is still over $400K? The foxwoods web site seems to be on a lag, the number hasn't changed in a day.

I'm on my way down tonight.......Last Saturday the wait for a $1/$2 table was crazy long....

Thanks

The BBJ gets updated daily at noon. Yeah, the FW website is slow to update, but try ptseats.com, they usually have it shown by 12:30.

Yes last Saturday took 45 mins for me. Crowds due to BBJ and the tournament. The tournament was tying up a lot of dealers, throughout the evening they were able to open up a bunch of cash tables as they got more dealers in from MTT tables breaking.
