I'm going to be able to play mostly on the weekends and am trying to get some info before deciding where to commit most of my time. Also, any heads up on hotels in the area? I moved to Springfield and it looks like only an hour or so ride but I would rather sleep instead of making several trips in a weekend.

Thanks for any info.
White - There is plenty of 2/5 NL all day/night 7 days a week. And yes it is juicier on the weekend. Hotels - Someone else on 2Plus2 will have to help you out.

Which seat were you? A couple of 2+2ers were at that table at the time and shortly after.

I moved around. I started in the 8th, went to 9, ended in the 2. I was the big stack at the table, the loud mouth big kid who liked to straddle and have fun... Who else was there?

Don't know how I do it.. but some days I actually lose, mostly if the table is loose and aggressive with straddles and blind caps! I seem to win vs the super nits for some odd reason. Anyway, i'll be going down there at least 4 times a week, diff times depending on when the wife works, if anyone needs a ride and is not too far off the beaten path of rt2 to 190, to 290 in worcester etc, i'm always up for a passenger. Also if anyone knows of any local "investors" so I could get back to playing 2/5 NL that would be awesome. Till then I lose my soul grinding the 2/4 game for a while, at least the competition is easy as all hell, but i'd rather beat the more skillful players in NL than take 2 and 4 bucks a time from the grumpy old nits and housewives that absolutely have to play every single hand to the end! Hoping to have at least enough to play a couple of tourneys in the october sessions.
Don't play 2/4 for anything other than recreation. The rake eats up too much and you could be stuck playing there a long time before earning your way out even if you have a significant edge over the field. Play 4/8 for the same rake and pretty much the same opponents.

If that's too high, maybe there's other ways to grind up $1k for a shot at 1/2nl other than paying for rake, tips, gas, and travel time on top of the hours that you play a super high-rake game. Play smaller online, sell some stuff you don't really need, or even get a j... j... j... job. Oh yeah, and since you're here, work on your game. When you get back to the game, you'll be a better for it. Good luck.

Thanks Munga... i'm on my way down there now and might try the 4/8 again. I'm on unemployment so i get about $500 a week, so my roll can be built up with that as well. I also saw somewhere on here about 15BB buy ins and when u make enough to move up to the next level take your money there and give it a shot. So I might just buy in for $120 at 4/8 and when i get up to $300 take a shot at the 10/20 table? Anyone have any experience at the higher limit tables? I think most of the people here are NL players, but ya never know. Wish me luck!

If you want to get back to NL why not just take the $120 and buy into a 1/3 game a little short? You have a better chance of beating the rake, there is more money on the table and there is a higher ceiling in what you can make. Why waste your time playing 2/4 or 4/8 if you want to go to NL anyway?

I wouldn't advise buying into the 10/20 that short. Again you are better off buying in a 1/2 or even really short into a 2/5 with $300. You will have more opportunity to protect you better hands.

I've found that playing 10-20 is one of the softest games at Foxwoods, lots of old folks who don't really have good hand reading ability and are there just to hit the BBJ. 20-40 on the other hand can be ridiculous depending on table draw...2-4 and 4-8 though I think I would rather just kill myself than have to deal with that game and those peoples.

If you don't have a problem busting after 2 hands...(Not that there aren't tons of players sitting in that game for 200, but not the types you want to imitate)

If you want to move up, get on the list for the 5/10 kill game. There's almost always a list and it goes from time to time.

Well.. i'm back after a 12 hour session... and it was crazy. After about 6 hours I was up about $180 in 2/4.. i wussed out! Then I went through about 2 hours without winning one hand... and we were 6 handed!!! Ended up stuck for $20 before I stormed off the table seriously pissed off. So I decided to steam off my last $80 in yellow chips i had left with the 4 people left playing 4/8 Omaha. 2nd Hand i flop a boat and check it, turn brings flush and low possibilities and 3 people are in there capping it with me on the turn. River hits the flush and the flush bets out and i get to raise again! Won about $130 pot and got the kill button. I also flopped quads, and rivered quads in the session and came out from my $80 to $260 for a $160 profit for the night. Sooooo, I think I have found my new favorite game for now, but will look out for the 5/10 game. Also i'm gonna have to search the forums on how to deal with a crazy table, as every time i'm on one... I just get murdered! Only time i'm ever playing 2/4 again is if I bring the wife with me... that game is right up her alley! Went from making 6BB an hour to losing $20 in 2 hours... made me sick of 2/4 pretty much.

Do they serve shots or only mixed drinks at the tables in the poker room? If not, where is the best bar (read cheapest) to go get a couple of pops before going to play a little 1-2?

Anyone know how to get a cheaper room rate for foxwoods? Trying to stay on 8-31 and they are asking 199. way too much money. Never pay more than 79 over at Mohegan for a weekday.

It depends on the server, but yes you can get shots at the table. I remember if the server is really cool, she will bring you a shot and a beer at the same time as long as you down the shot really quick and give it back to her, then take the beer. It won't hurt to ask...when you take the escalator upstairs, the Atrium bar should be right behind the waterfall bridge thingy, just search around a little bit.

They gave me the same rate for that night. Maybe a lil cheaper but not sure. I just booked 59/night at two trees for Sept 1-3.

Always can check Bellissimo too. During the week you should get 69/night.

As far as bars go. I usually go to the Racebook bar. Throw ten bux in machine and your drinks are comped. Even bottles of heineken light which I drink

Hit my first royal on a machine there last week for 250 quarters. Obv gave it back til I was even but had 4-5 beers so I was happy.

Tip Chris he is a good guy

I don't like that pit bull miserable looking dude. Usually works nights... He once charged me 8 bux for a dixie cup vodka tonic cuz I asked for Grey Goose. He didn't warn me. I haven't ordered a drink from him since and it was two years ago. Sux for him. His bar is always dead.

Chris is a good dude tho.

As far as at the tables go. Just ask for whatever you want straight up and they will bring it.

What are the stats on the BBJ as far as what tables hit? It always seems like it's a 1/2 NL table. I was surprised to find out the 10/20 limit players were even contributing.

I wish they posted on their site what table hit the BBJ, I have no idea. As far as shots go, ask and you shall recieve. I don't drink alchohol but at last call I'll get a shot of Hennesey if i'm staying till late in the morning just to ease the nerves a bit, and I can't get more than one so I won't be tempted to get totally cocked either! I spew chips as it is never mind if I was wasted... or maybe I might play better who knows! lol

^ yup and depending on how much you wanna drink- tip good the 1st time and they get bigger...you can also just have the waitress replenish your drink every trip instead of ordering everytime

10-20 Limit contributes but 20-40 does not...also 1-2 NL contributes but 2-5 does not. I would say if I had to guesstimate that the vast majority of the BBJ's that have been hit are either 1-2 NL or 2-4 FL.

This. Everyone will be offered different rates. I just looked right now and I can get that night at MGM/Cedar for $69 and Two Trees for $49. Pequot appears to be sold out.

There was one earlier in the thread, but I believe he got scolded by FW for posting here, so I don't think FW really likes their dealers to participate on the forums, at least not openly.
