seems like it's really far for you but if you want to spend a day in NH it's a really good time at Billiards

edit: saw your post in the other thread seems you've been there lol

Just got free rooms today for October. M-th GP only.
Still probably won't go, but who knows maybe we'll need a getaway.

They do appear to have adjusted their free rooms strategy. Previously,bi would be getting November's rooms added right about now, but just got October today. They appear to be holding back to give themselves more flexibility if any hotels open or have to scale back.

I got my November rooms yesterday. So maybe you need to wait a few days.

What I can’t believe is that they haven’t been thinking of an idea to reopen poker at all?? I know I was told 2021 but that’s a ways away and how? Why wait until 2021 if it’s working at other casinos.

Really? You think they haven't been thinking about a plan at all?

I think it's more they know what they're doing, complying with the state guidelines and will pull the trigger when it's appropriate.

My guess is that poker became unprofitable for them after Encore opened. Since Mohegan doesn't have poker now either, I suspect that they don't see any advantage of opening it. If they open, it will take Encore a couple of weeks to do the same.

I'm still a strong believer in the rumor that they are waiting until after Nov 30 so they can lay off all the dealers without paying out their accumulated sick time, then hire them back brand new at starter pay/benefits.

They've opened up bingo and high rollers so far this month, red lantern and shrine next week, shows return next month. Barring any setbacks, I think everything will be back open in some capacity by the end of the year... with possible exception to the buffet.

I think the one that kills me the most is the pools. Every area hotel, including Mohegan, has had their pools open for months. But they still won't open theirs. I don't get it.

Messed up, but extremely plausible... I have a friend who’s been with Foxwoods for over 13 years, she’s full time over at Fox Tower. They never called her to return.

If they do this and people do return they will have some seriously disgruntled employees returning, especially if they have no choice but to return.

Wouldn’t the UAW Union protect the dealers, or is this action busting the Union also?

I have friends in table games that have been there since day 1 and they didn’t call a lot of them back. I know a manager that has called out sick less then 10 times since they’ve been open and they didn’t call him back. He’s got a couple hundred sick hours on the books that they won’t pay out after Nov 30th. The dealers are still protected somewhat by the union contract in both poker and table games but the floors and above they can really screw over. Like Lattimer said, after Nov 30th they are arent paying out any sick time on the books and can rehire at a much lower pay rate and some without benefits.

I know someone who knows a supervisor there who has 25 years with Foxwoods, has NEVER called in sick, and has a boatload of sick and vacation time, and still not back to work.
Foxwoods is doing a lot of people dirty.

"Winter Hours"

Basically everything they had reopened since June, they have re-closed half of it (except food options).

I just got another email stating that I have until March 2021 to maintain my Gold Card status. Does anyone know or think they might punt that out again as to not punish us that don’t want to go right now because of COVID and because they aren’t offering the games - POKER - they we want to play. Considering that every time I speak to a host I get told “You’re a Poker Player”.

I've been wondering that myself. They did it last time because the whole place was closed for over 2 months, it would've been awful PR not to. Business has obviously been slow since they re-opened. I could see them possibly doing it again as an incentive to get people through the door, but I would never count on them doing anything that favors the players. They're certainly not going to care that your poker game hasn't been available though, because from their POV, **** poker players.

It's certainly been an awful time for those that did earn a high card the hard way. The higher perks are practically non-existent right now. I'm sure there's been a lot of loud griping about that, so that might be another reason for them to possibly extend again. But again, I wouldn't be surprised if they couldn't care less.
