How many entries does the Wednesday 6pm $15k guaranteed tournament usually generate? Thinking of making the drive from Upstate NY this week if it’s worth it.

Hi. I’m curious about how many entries the Wednesday 6pm $15k guaranteed tournament usually generates, and what the payout structure typically is for that game. I’m thinking of making the drive from Upstate NY this week if it’s worth it. Are the tourneys soft with fish and donkeys? Or very nitty? Are the early levels limpfests? Thanks in advance.

The Wednesday night usually gets between 250-300 entries. This total includes re-entries. Pays about 15% of the field I believe but that is just a guess. First is usually between 6-7k(ish). The play is very varied as this is a low buy-in tourney. Lots of limping. Especially the first level since the first level has a hide hand with the winner herring a prize equal to one buy-in.

High hand?

There is a tourney high hand promotion for the first level only. A way to try to get people to show up on time. The highest hand after the completion of lvl 1 gets a payout of one buy-in for that tourney.

Thanks. I took a redeye overnight last night and spent a God’s 2-3 minutes trying to figure out what a “hide hand” was.

Looks like they are making good progress in the new poker room. I’m glad to see that they are putting up a wall and some sort of doorway, because when they are playing live music in the Attrium it is pretty deafening all the way in the back when I play craps.

But please if I heard it once I heard it 10 times over the last few days... The joke that they will be done in May but not oppeneing until June to bring the carpet upstairs...

The crooked politicians of CT are still fighting over who gets the profits. FW and MS have no choice but to wait until that’s settled before they can add sports betting.

That really isn't the cause of the delay. The state lawmakers want legal sports betting to extend operations including the lottery and OTB parlons throughout the state while the casinos claim that they hold exclusivity from their agreement back in the 90's although it never included sports betting in it. If the casinos don't get their way there is concern that they will view this as a voiding of their agreement and they will withhold their revenue sharing payment.

This could last awhile.

How long does it usually last? I’d imagine that it’s probably a 7-8 hour tilt easily.

It’s still a fight with the politicians no matter how it’s spun. The politicians representing the towns near the casinos are fighting with those from the Hartford and New Haven areas that have a majority of the OTBs. It’s all gonna come down to who pays off who

Well yes, of course it is political however you said that it was between the state lawmakers while MS/FW were simply waiting to see what comes of it.....which is not the case at all. They are actively involved by releasing statements expecting the state to honor their agreements of exclusivity and certainly not sitting on their hands waiting on the state.

Expect the bubble at about 12:30 - 1:00 AM, Final Table at about 3:00 AM, I'd say.

That’s exactly it. Both sides (though I can imagine the “won’t you think of the children conservatives” don’t) in the state want sports betting to happen but the tribes want exclusivity. The state literally can’t afford to have them withhold their slot revenue. So that’s where we’re at.

If I was a betting man, I’d bet on pot getting passed for legalization here first before sports betting.

Same. But surprised as I haven't been there since January. Rumer has it the GC will be jammed as I'm sure the new poker room will be a huge draw. LOL.

It's been fairly understood here for a few years, but recently I did get confirmation that room offers systematically decrease during the summer. Specifically, the code that is tied to your monthly room offer (V2, V3A, V3B, V4, etc) has a downgraded meaning during Jun/Jul/Aug.

Somehow I’m still a V5 in June even though I’ve only played a handful of times since January
I had all hotel options in June but no Fridays, which I’ve received Friday nights for a year now

So my email said Two Trees only, but when I logged in I also get Fox Tower.

As you know, these ratings are based *mostly* on your average play, not total play, so it doesn't matter so much how often you come than what you do when you're here. Although lately I've been hearing about a lot of inactive players suddenly getting offers out of nowhere the past few months.

I'm guessing for most of the past year your V5 offers were something like Su-Th Pequot, Su-F everywhere else? And now for June they are Su-Th everywhere, or M-Th Pequot Su-Th everywhere else? That's the type of downgrade I'm talking about.
