So figuring around 100 tables and 100 giveaways you have about a 10:1 of winning if you play the full 24 hours?

They'll have about 75 tables running (mixed game and plo don't qualify) and it runs for 12hrs.

So assuming every person has equal chance of winning HH (will not exactly be true) expected value of promotion would be an extra (1/750)*3000= $4 an hour or $48 for playing the whole 12hr promotion. Of course when there are many fewer tables, value goes way up.

Seems more meh than madness! Not exactly worth taking a day off work.

Omg, can you stop with this? You're not a bright one as it's simple math, players contribute to this HH and it's paid out by the house. This isn't free money to get players in there and there is no positive EV.

If I played for the full twelve hours, my contribution to the HH will exceed your figure of $48.

Could you clarify, are you saying your expected value is the same with or without promotion? That promotions offer no additional expected value?

You are saying the high hand itself is positive EV. No it is not.

Perhaps your ev goes up a bit because of increased player traffic during a promo, but other than that that is exactly what I'm saying in regards to a player funded promo.

Thank you for clarifying.

Player funded promotions are EV0 for the room, no doubt. EV- if the house takes a cut.

For individual players, they are EV- (relative) if you never play when promotion money is available and always EV+ (relative) if you only play when promo is available. The math in between is tricky but easily avoided if you consider promotion EV separately.

I'm kinda of surprised I've gotten so much push back from poker players about basic math and simple EV calcs. If you don't want to know the relative expected value a promotion offers, that's cool. Just ignore my posts friend.

Unlike at MGM (where you posted about this before) at FW promo money is always available for payout, the BBJ runs 24/7. So it's not quite the same.

Hey Lattimer! Thanks for your response.

MGM also pays BBJ 24/7. These simple calcs only estimate the value of the HH or HS promotion. We are not looking at player contribution because contribution is the same whether promo is on or off.

EV for BBJ alone will always be zero at best, - if it shares a pool with HH (it typically does) and you can't realize 100% of HH equity.

Basically, if you acknowledge there is added value for playing promotion (simple provable math) these estimates answer the simple question: How much value?

I think this needs a containment thread! I'll start one later. May we can get something going to help answer the questions these basic calcs do not. I'd be interested to compare promo value with rake cost between rooms, as that's a real world problem we might face.

That be interesting to see. Have at it, I'll follow the thread and would like to see how it evolved.

I donĺt think this is a matter of math, but of perspective.

Your calculations are of coarse correct but your interpretation of what it means is what I think is being debated.

I think a separate thread for this is a great idea (in the other forum, CCP).

Done!

Now we can stop talking about math in V&C threads and stick to unconfirmed rumors and throwing shade

Does anyone know what happened on table 75? The 8 seat specifically?

I left at 2pm to catch a flight and he was already three sheets to the wind. I couldn't imagine that day ending well for him. Alcoholism is an awful thing and kinda sad that it's actually "good for the game."

He started out just being obnoxiously loud, you prob heard me yell ôshutupö several times. At some point he got into a really loud confrontation with another player that had insulted or threatened him and security came down. I think that was later in the afternoon, prob after you left. He did manage to accumulate a nice stack despite his drunkenness

Re: Foxwoods ResortĚCasino (Mashantucket, CT) -- FAQ in OP, updated 2018.02.26

So after hitting the 'hot seat' at mgm- forgot if it was for 300 or 500, I chopped the hot seat with random chick that agreed to split it if either of us hit (for 250 each) and hit the high hand for 500 at fw on tuesday morning i believe it was.

p.s.

Missed the bbj at fw by 1 card. str8 flush turn and dude had 3 8's

Table share at MGM is 150/250. So she walked away with half your hit plus her table share?

Good deal!

Nj smashing those promotions though! Woo!

I hit the hot seat by myself for either 250/500 don’t remember
Then a lady and I decided we would split either the hot seat or table(250/500)-she got hot seat so we each got 250.
Then i hit high hand at fw for 500 and just missed bbj sorry for the confusion
