No, if you’re in the tournament area, it’s through that archway, where table games, rewards desk and slots are

Oh I didn’t think of that. That would suck

Gold is 400 Tier Points or 58.8 hours in 6 months to achieve.
Platinum is 2000 (I believe) which is 294.1 hours in 6 months.
Diamond is 5000 (Again I believe) which is 735 hours in 6 months.

Then you have to maintain it every 6 months to keep it.

You get 6.8 tier points an hour playing poker.

Just received gold membership even though I was 250 points short and it's valid until 3/31/2019. Is that normal?

They often top you off if you're close. Less then half the required points....I've never heard of that before. Congrats on the h hookup.

There is some weird stuff going on that I'm trying to get to the bottom of. I wouldn't necessarily trust anything you see right now. I'll report what I find out as soon as I can.

"Less then half the required points....I've never heard of that before." - this has actually happened to me once before, but I knew why, it wasn't a normal thing.

See if you can get to the bottom of finding me a diamond card. I was only 6600 points short

Damn then double my quote on hours. Nearly 1500 hours in 6 months to get a diamond card. That's 8 hours a day for 184 days to get a Diamond card.

12 hrs/day, 5 days/wk, for 25 weeks (yay a week off!). I won't say that nobody in the room is doing that, but it's doubtful more than a small few would be.

It's a good thing that CPK now delivers.

Even the ones who are reach Diamond by supplementing their gaming with table games/slots/race book play.

I used to love players' reactions when I'd sign in with my Royal card at the 1/2 table. Usually prompted the same conversation every time - whoa how did you get that, etc.

I know a few who have tried for diamond from purely playing poker. I've only seen one person succeed.

That person must hate themselves to put that many hours in poker.

That's my opinion as well. Pyrrhic victory.

I generally hate myself after about 6 hours in a poker room. It gets old fast. I never understand how the grinders do it day in/day out sharing comp rooms for the week and putting in 12+ hours a day.
I'm not saying you have to be smart to win at poker, because in my hay day even I was a solid winner, but if you can win at poker long term, you are probably smart enough to earn a better living with a real job that you will probably enjoy more than poker.
What can a solid 2/5 grinder expect to earn hourly over the long run? I can't imagine it's much north of $20.

I know of several at Foxwoods around $40 give or take a few dollars both from my observation of their play and in some cases lengthy discussion of our games. In some cases sharing historical graphs to discuss underlying reasons for drawdowns. Most of those daily leatherasses are either barely break even or small winners.

I also know of several above $60 in other states with greater action and lesser skilled rec players. All of them that I know are former CT players who relocated for greener poker grasses.

I always assumed many of regs who are their every day have won jackpots in past to supplement their income and they can just sit and break even.

He’s a miserable human being. You know who it is, btw. Not personally but through stories about milkshakes

I had planned on giving diamond a solid try this cycle but unless I just live in a seat at the table, I doubt it will happen

After speaking with a great deal of them, they are happy if they win a couple hundred dollars a week to pad their retirement or social security checks. They get their lounge access, coffee makers, free rooms, etc and they are THRILLED, even though they all look miserable on the outside. Scratch that, they’re miserable on the inside as well
